lovely collection man. I would love to have an xe4 someday it’s my dream camera given its specs and how it looks and i think it being all black is just too sexy
I'm sad they discontinued it. I still have 3 rolls. The secret to make this one look great is to overexpose. Fujifilm always has a washed out green tint in the underexposed areas but if you give it enough light, it really pops.
1:33 i respect that you said In your opinion, but I think a couple of people have made comparisons and found some of th3m to be incredibly close (acros, classic neg for example). I think Hasem from pushing film has a great vid on that. But there isn't nearly enough vids out there on the subject sadly.
And do you have the M6 Classic? Is it easy to use with a flash? I shoot weddings and would love to add this one to the collection but the TTL version ins expensive!
I do not offer any classes at this point, but RU-vid is where I learned to film my videos! So many great people that do offer a content for free on that
2:06 what an exquisite example of of this roll of film. Well done! I have this film simulation on my x100 camera. It's absolutely gorgeous. It's a mix of Kodak Ultra Max and a film simulation called 1979. Thanks for sharing!
After my first olympus 35 DC which is a traditional metal rangerfinder. I 'll like to take lighter XA as my side camera with modern digital panasonic G9 for days of tour :)
I know this is kinda old but what focal length and film stock did you use at the time? I love this image ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q13503yiBnk.html, that fade is dope
Really nice work and great video. It’s refreshing to see someone using a rangefinder camera in a studio setting. Leicas are much more than street cameras. Thank you for sharing.
It is great for those new to MF, but by no means for beginners only. It enables me to easily print 20 or 24" prints that no way i would make with 35 mm. The neg is 3x the size and the difference is substantial. So end result usage is a consideration. With 35 mm get 36 shots, and if only printing to 16" it is fine and easily portable and uses my killer nikon/zeiss glass. The 645 is totally portable in the stripped down configuration, wlf, hand crank. The RB once you learn to wear it cross body, can be carried for hours and quickly accessible but unless the additional resolution or tonal transitions is necessary, the 645 does all that is needed.
18 minutes of suffering sounds like you did pretty well :D People out there have no idea how much work it is to put together what may seem like a simple 5 minutes talking head thing... anyway, thanks for the detailed review. It was exactly what I was looking for. =)
The price of the Contax is 80% celebrity endorsement. I’ve had three and all have broken. The electrics are brittle and will inevitably shit the bed, but all my XAs are running, and you can get ten XAs for one Contax. If Beyoncé busted out an XA they would cost $2k each too.
Hey man! Love the video what is the trigger he's using on the RZ. I have the westscotts as well. I also dont see him using a sync cord for the trigger as well. You have any more info on this? Thanks!
dude you compare it to the m6 do you have two rolls of film in that? two card slots are over rated.. I'm. almost don't want to say this but during 23 years of digital shooting I never had a Sd card failure.. 19 out of those years are as a working professional.
This was such an insightful and helpful video. Surprised it hasn’t gotten more love. I’m looking for my first film camera so I’ll take a look at the xa! Thank you
I just got back into shooting film after years of shooting digital. I picked up the Pentax 654N because I love medium format. Back in the day I owned a Pentax 6x7. I have gotten into HP5 Plus and I have to say it is a gorgeous B&W film. Back in the day I was a big fan of Ilford's XP1 so I am no stranger to Ilford films. I shoot HP5 Plus at box speed and home develop in Ilford DD-X. I would recommend for anyone to try this film. You too might become a fan. Thanks for the video
