it reminds me of a jdm type car. i really like these cars. im hoping to buy one off my local pull a part and turn it into a lil project car for fun. i like the 80s-90s cars but theyre not super comfortable. my 09 corolla s is a good mix between comfort and cheapness.

I had an 89 Festiva L…manual 4spd 3 cylinder. With no air….i smelled like fried chicken in the summertime. It did come with a Blaupunkt SQR29 pullout though.
What oil filter is that I see on the engine ? I have a 1996 Tracker 1.6L 16 valve and researched the oil filter crossover and found that the K&N HP-3001 fits and gives you about a half quart more oil capacity.
@@DangerDave95 if you want a little more oil capacity you can use a FL-1A Motocraft , that is what crosses over to a K&N HP 3001. They both have anti drain back valves but since the filter is mounted on a downward angle you really don’t need it. With the bigger filter I’m able to put a full 5 quarts of oil in it. It calls for 4.4 quarts and on my dipstick with the bigger filter 5 quarts is just over the full mark. On all my vehicles I like to use as much oil as safe to do because the oil is part of the cooling system so I usually fill the crankcase to about 1/8” above the full mark. Most engines can be over filled a quart of oil and you only get in trouble if you put two or three quarts over the recommended amount.
It's a universal lip I found online a few years back. I had to modify it quite a bit for it to fit. I still have the car and decided to keep it after dealing with no shows and scammers lol.

Nice Samurai. I have been to Brown many times in mine with only a mild shackle lift and 235/75/15 tires. Never had a problem. Now it sits on 30s with OME springs with 1.6 8v and 4.16 TC.
That Sami seems to move down the road pretty good with that engine. I'm trying to decide on what will replace my 8-valve 1.3, and it seems like this engine would be the least hassle.
I'm modifying the wiring harness from a 97 tracker (ODB2, 3 speed auto, which I think is the same as what you show). You said "it's super easy", but I have to say it's pretty difficult. My problem is the engine was pulled for me by someone else, and he provided pretty much ALL the wiring out of that tracker. It even had lightbulb sockets with the bulbs in them. I was hoping it would be obvious following wires from the ECU what I could prune out, but that has turned out to be pretty opaque. I've removed ABS, A/C, etc wiring, so I've made some progress. I'm also having a hard time finding any diagrams or guides that actually match my ECU pinouts. :/
