My takeaway when this happened, and I could be wrong, was that he was joking. Perhaps it’s just wishful thinking, and I know people will say “the Briscoes are rednecks”, etc., but I thought to myself, “Jay Briscoe’s too smart to think something that stupid.” And I don’t care who that offends, if you’re a homophobe, you’re being stupid. Anyway, I hope I’m right and the Briscoes are more open-minded than their characters, and it was all just a big misunderstanding.
