since i played this game first time 2004 when i was 9 years old (which was also my first pokemon game i played) i always try to find that expierience in every pokemon game i bought, but it was never the same. i still enjoyed the other pokemon games of course especially 3rd and 4th generation, but deep inside i always wished they were more like pokemon colosseum just for handheld. since today there is no other game besides Pokemon XD which could be at least close to the 2 Orre titles i played. if nintendo doesnt make a new Orre title someone has to make a Orre Based Rom hack or RPGXP Game.

I loved these games. I always thought this region would be perfect region to revisit for a Legends Celebi game. With the help of Celebi the player would go back and forth through time restoring the region and bringing life back to the desolate Orre region. While doing this you would uncover the mysteries of naturally occurring shadow pokemon and its connection to the original grey dragon from gen 5. That dragon would lay dormant under Agate Village and would be a grass/dragon with a dark/dragon 'withered form' taking design inspiration from an ancient tree. This would create a season theme with the now 4 dragons of Unova (Kyurem for winter, Reshiram for the summers heat, Zekrom for the stomy spring and the new dragon for the fall). Every time the trainer progresses in the past it would change the pokemon available in the present/future and certain bosses/milestones would change the towns/landscapes, maybe other gen pokemon once thrived here. The admins in colluseum would have ancestors with paradox pokemon as their aces (walking wake, gouging fire and raging bolt). In the climax of the game it would be revealed that the end boss was not the orginal grey dragon from gen 5 but a shadow celebi from the future. Sort of like a boot-strap paradox where Shadow Celebi created shadow pokemon in the past, which in turns creates shadow Celebi in the future. Like giratina in legend Arceus, celebi would surprise us with a final form, shadow Celebi would gigantamax. This would transform Celebi into a creature similar to the one in the forth pokemon movie and we would have to battle it similarly to how players battled Eternatus in Sword and Sheild. Once the dust settles and Orre is fully restored it is revealed in the final epilog that we restored the region for the new gen pokemon game. Orre would be the past name for this region similarly to how Hisui was for Sinnoh.

A lot of the Lupin movies are on Tubi! They have subs and dubs of some of the movies. TMS also has a free Lupin movie on their channel every month. They showed Mystery of Mamo this past New Years holiday.

If you’re lucky, some libraries do have DVDs of movies to borrow, and it’s worth checking to see what they have. That’s how I was able to find Lupin III: The First and other Lupin media. Or there might be a few rare movie rental stores that could have Lupin stuff. Thanks for this guide by the way. This is very helpful

43:24 Okay, I was with you with all of your movie reccs, except for this one. I will be fully real in that dead or alive just wasn’t really the best. I think that part that especially did it in, was after watching it, watching twilight Gemini, which had a very similar setting and even similar story beats, but the characters were just so much better (imo) to the ones in dead or alive. That being said, I also highly recommend Episode 0: First Encounter, and also Operation Return the Treasure, both were really good, with the former being a more serious movie in tone compared to most movies, and the latter having a good story, and also genuinely having some of my favorite jokes from some of the movies… Except for when they found the word impossible in Napoleon’s dictionary, nothing will ever top that

I cannot say weather I condone nor deny the act of piracy, but in the modern day of anti-consumerisum (especially with Lupan) it has become the morally right option, and sometimes the only option for some. If you can afford to spend a lot on multiple streaming sevices even though you dont own the product or spend even more on physical copies that you DO own then more power too you, but know that no one is stopping you from pirating the show.

My introduction to Lupin was Castle Of Cagliostro though i didn't know his name was Lupin because they called him Wolf in the version i watched even though his calling card still says Lupin, is that why they made Mr. Wolf the protagonist of The Bad Guys?

You said "aside from Espeopn and Umbreon, these 48 Pokémon are all you get", except for Duking's Plusle, which is pretty much unusable because it needs Minun for its ability, an ability specifically designed for the new Double Battle Mechanic, in a game filled exclusively with double battles. And even with Minun, it's still not good. Also, fun fact, it's actually possible to get all 3 Johto starters in the game without using any kind of hack or bug exploitation. All you need to do is catch the Shadow starter, and then lose the fight. It'll start you back at the Pokémon center with all the Cipher Goons still blocking the exits, but the snag still counted and will be in your party. Just face off against one of the other 2 goons, snag their Shadow starter too, and lose again. Will start you back off at Pokémon center, both the starters you snagged in your party. Then just take on the last one, snag the last one and don't lose. There's also a way to get basically infinite balls, but that actually is a bug exploitation. If you throw a ball on your Pokémon's turn and then re-order how the ball you selected is organized in your balls pocket on your 2nd Pokémon's turn, the ball will still be thrown but it won't be depleted from your inventory. And you don't have to go back to the stone tablet 48 separate times, you can purify a full party of 6 in one visit... though you do have to select each one separately and purify them in sequence, and you can't purify them if they're in hyper mode.

If you're gonna use glitches to cut down on the annoying grind, I'd recommend the Pokeball glitch. Use your first Pokemon's turn to throw a ball, then on your second Pokemon's turn open the item menu and move the ball to a different position, then continue with doing whatever you want with your second Pokemon. For some reason this makes the ball not be consumed, and this works with any kind of ball, even the Master ball.

Honestly, I can't thank you enough for making this video for casual anime folks that want to get to Lupin III franchise. Since early 2000s, like most millennials who watches DBZ, Sailor Moon, and Pokemon, I loved Lupin III part 2 back when it was aired on Adult Swim. I'd enjoy your takes like I'd agree that this franchise is the Scooby Doo in Japan, which is ironically true. Look at the parallels! Lupin Zero = A Pup Named Scooby Doo. Unfortunately, this franchise is so heavily slept on just as much as the Dragon Quest franchise (since it was overshadowed by Final Fantasy) which is also I loved (currently playing DQ8 as I speak). Great video! :D

A few months ago I wanted to start this anime, and your video helped me to get interested in the show, first of all this is an older show that has a lot of parts, but your video and analysis helped me how to start, and since this show has a lot of fan service it affected my viewing a bit in the end. And since I like to watch Eng DUB, and only if it's satisfactory, which means that if the characters are still the same as in the original, and if the voice actor performances are good enough, that's why I didn't watch a couple of movies because they didn't seem interesting to me and they weren't dubbed, so this is my order of how I watched this anime: Lupine III THE GREEN SUIT (first 23 episodes and two movies). Lupine III THE RED SUIT (I was a little disappointed that this season wasn't fully dubbed, but I still watched everything in order, all 155 episodes and 13 movies with the red suit, and I watch the movies in the order of the year they came out, and in the order of the color of the suit, which means I don't watch other movies who do not have the same suit color as the season I finished). Lupine III THE PINK SUIT (This series is not dubbed, but I decided to watch all 50 episodes, and that's only because of the 2 movies in which have a pink suit and were dubbed, otherwise I would have skipped the pink suit). Lupine III THE BLUE SUIT (I watched this in the order that the seasons came out, two seasons with the blue suit, and the last one with the green one, which still follows the story of the last two, so I decided to combine them, and I think there is a special when Lupin travels through time with a car, and that happen during these seasons, so I also included it in this calculation, that would be 74 episodes and the movies, which are more like 2 part episodes, the storys that focus on Jigen, Goemon and Fujiko, I called them movies, but they are still 6 episodes that together make 3 movies). Lupine III THE CGI MOVIE (I separated this LUPIN THE FIRST 2019 movie from everyone, because it's the only time these characters have been shown in this kind of animation, so I didn't think I should put it with for example the red suit movies, but here near the end of this journey). MINE FUJIKO TO IU ONNA (I saved this for last, because of your good description, and I respect a good fan service, so I left this for last, and it turns out that the events of this take place before the main characters met, and that it can be watched before all the shows almost perfectly and easily to continue with Lupine III THE GREEN SUIT his 23 episodes onwards). In conclusion, I realized that the stories from all these series and movies can be CANON, with minor problems in the details, but that all the things happened, just maybe not in all the details, but that the characters stick to their behavior and events in different seasons and movies, depending on what suit Lupin wears, since in the seasons we have mentions and appearances of characters from the movies, and places from the movies that did not appear in the shows, and because of the special where Lupin travels through time and almost loses his friends, but in the end manages to restore everything. I watched this like a marathon, and I took a break when I finished with the red suit, and then I continued and I didn't skip anything, because I'm like that, if I tell someone that I've watched an anime, it means that I've watched everything that anime has to offer, and that I can talk about it comfortably, but it was not easy to browse all episodes and movies from this anime giant, but thanks to your video I was able to watch the series properly, by making my own way of watching. Thank you very much for everything, you prepared me for this anime show properly.

6:15 YES YES yea i have to agree 100%, that Lupin bridges the gap between maturity and fun. the reason i got into it was being sick of shonen as well and not getting everything i needed from higher art such as Perfect Blue, as great as those are! as much as i love more artistic, serious and heady anime, lupin is a blast, it's funny and timelessly indulgent without being childish. and the art style is frequently experiential and visually stunning and at times artistically moving without being oscar-bait level heavy per say. Mob Psycho 100 was another that recently bridged that gap for me. the only upside of lupin being how refreshing it is to have a full cast as older to middle aged adults. but who behave in looney tunes like antics and tarantino like action. (rather than a more grounded sitcom or drama where more adult casts fall into). when you're an adult yourself you do get tired of teen and child protagonists 24/7 simply because we all want full fledged lead characters who are our own age sometimes lol

I'll sum it up way easier since it can be done in like 1 minute. If you want to get into lupin you can consider this: The 1st three parts are completely episodic, and there's not much tonal difference outside of Part 1 being a little grittier. If you want to watch beyond part 3 you're getting parts that have no continuity to anything except themselves while trying to somewhat establish continuity.. If you think of everything having no continuity to a point it's very easy to not overthink it. Part 4,5,6 can have a story of their own, but they can jump back and forth to red jacket, green jacket and pink jacket without much of a thought. As for the movies? they have no relation to the series outside of being influenced on what was being made at the time(Mamo coming out early in Part 2's run, and Cagliostro coming out towards the end when Lupin was established the way he was by Miyazaki). And the specials? They're all one offs, entirely their own thing. The Fujiko series and it's sequel films? all self contained in it's own continuity and being way grittier as it's closer to the manga? And the Manga? gritty, full of death and craziness, and not reflective of the modern anime characterization of Lupin. Long story short you can start anywhere really for part 1-3, the specials, and mamo and calgiostro. But if you want a basic idea of who these characters are it's best to watch a few episodes of part 1, part 2 or part 3.
