I make music with Drum Machines and Synthesizers in real time and Host a podcast. I am working with a Alesis SR-18,Roland 303 Groovebox, BOSS DR-5, BOSS DR-202, Roland D-20, Alesis QS-6 synthesizer. My music is put together in midi.
Cool laid back sound David and also informative (p.s. love the dogs playing cards painting. Remember that being in a pub (UK) I used to frequent many years ago! 😄)👍
I remember my neighbor’s brother had one of those, but he end up having to toss it because someone he lend it too spilled ice cream or a milkshake all over it. I wish they still sell those grew boxes, just not with a cheap housing. I’m surprised they kept 303 boutique with its original design!
Goa!! I Love the sound! Takes me back to my elementary school days of playing PC & PS1 games with that sounds (Syphon Filter & System Shock 2)! Are you on iTunes and Spotify?
I miss the original looks of the groove boxes from the 90s! Now majority of Roland, Akai and Native Instruments products look like toys, cheap black plastic with translucent rubber pads.
Not to mention the Korg volcas. 😂. MC303, MC505 and the Korg ESX and EMX (with the tubes) are good grooveboxes that work flawlessly together. Really regret selling my ESX. I even repaired my wonky LCD on my 505 by buying a replacement LCD that was neon blue from a seller on Geocities of all websites back in the day!
The arpeggio that I am using is from the preset. I just use what is on the machine. And example part 2 arpeggio will be changed to midi out to another synthesizer bass or synth.
@@DavidSheltonKCDJUnique ohhhhh, okay! Because I’m using a TR-6S (909) settings) for the beat, TB-303 for the bass line, an Arturia MiniBrute 2 for the leads and a Yamaha PSR- 723 or something for a baglama sound.
Dear David, Thank you for your many RU-vid contributions. You are real inspiration. I am going to finally sit down and crack open the instruction manual to both my SR-16 and SR-18 and learn how to make some music with these fantastic drum machines. All my very best, Eric
alot of people sleep on that Akai xr-20 I already know what it is. This drum machine sounds amazing and the sounds are very warm , Sounds better that some of the software sounds in reason and fl studio in my opinion.
I also bought the zoom sb 246"Street Box" quite a few years ago. It had factory presets in it that were made by "Beat Kangs", but it did not have the large selection of "one shots" that the xr 20 has. The xr 20 is way better in my opinion 👍
