I'm a beginner at reviewing products with a special interest in fountain pens, pens, mechanical pencils, tea, coffee, writing materials, bags and backpacks, knives, and stationary
Hi, which one do you prefer more, the KT roulette or the graph gear 500? They seem really simmilar and I want to buy one of them. Still thanks for the review!
I worked at an office supply store when these came out. At that time the V5 was fine and V7 was medium. I really like these pens and still use the V5 today. I like a very fine point pen. Excellent review.
This pen and its rollerball cousin are still sold online at The Online Pen company and AliExpress. The FP nibs are meh bordering on terrible due to their inconsistency but if you like the style, the rollerball version can take international rollerball refills and still give a smooth writing experience.
I'm a little bit late to the party here, but I've been thinking about getting one of these Lihit Lab covers for the past few days, so I'm very glad I found this video. Thanks for taking the time to record such a detailed review!
Uniball seems to be the only pen which passes every test I've thrown at it. Both the Pilot G2 and the Pentel Energel inks fail when exposed to bleach. I've tried both the Uniball 207 and the Uniball 207 Plus+. The original 207 seems to skip sometimes, but the Plus+ is very smooth and is my favorite pen right now. I bought a 4 pack which had 2 black, 1 blue and 1 red. I did notice that the red faded a little bit in my testing, but it wasn't significant. The blue and black were impervious to everything I threw at them. I noticed no fading at all.
Thanks for this video! The part about the tip being bent helped immensely. I was able to fix one of my favorite pencils as well. Your videos are very clear and concise. Thank you.

I didn't know the clip came off! THANK YOU! I hate clips. I would say the GG 300 is too slick of grip, the GG 800 is just no with the speed bump rubber grippers. The GG 1000 is pretty unique and functions nice. A bit heavier pen. The GG 500 is just right. That's my go to. Thanks for thoughts on the clip! My 0.9 just popped right off. LOL
Not tryna be a hater, i just wish you put the camera a little closer to the writing without a shadow so we can really see it. Plus.... with the lines of the paper would have been nice :(
France has the oldest ink since 1700 and Germany has the oldest paper since 1584. While I like Diamine ink, I do prefer J Herbin, Octopus Fluids, Waterman, and Pelikan.
These pens skip! Here’s my neurotic conundrum-I wish I could quit the signo but I can’t 😢 I’ve used them for years, and only 1 out of 4 doesn’t skip! But when they’re good…they’re very very good. They didn’t used to skip. I bought them at a big box store maybe 15-20 yrs ago, the first two 12 packs which lasted 3 years, got me hooked. Like writing with velvet. After that, the quality dropped. Now I’m chasing the dragon and sometimes I find it, but the honeymoon has been over for a decade. BTW it was very frustrating that you complained about the ink, but then didn’t compare it to ink that you love. There was nothing to reference. But thanks for the video. Did uniball pay you not to mention the skipping? Or did they send you the pen sample-their choice? Because nearly everyone complains about the skipping.
Does anybpdy own both the Japanese and the international version of this pencil please? Do these have exactly the same point of balance and the same precision when you write/draw?
You should try the rotring rapid pro Mechanical pencil the sleeve retracts as you're writing as far as the Uni Kuru Toga Advance The rotating lead Only rotates when you're lifting the pencil off the paper but if your writing is script the rotation mechanism only writes when you take it off the paper so do an update with this Uni Kuru Toga Advance the rotring rapid pro
I just bought this model for the first time, and you confirm my good impressions. But what a strange way you have of holding the pen between your fingers, it looks like... a right-handed person with his left hand on the wrong side!😜😂
Hey ! I know its been like 4 years since you posted this video lol, but is rotring 500 worth buying? I thought of buying the rotring 600 but its a bit expensive for me haha, so is the rotring 500 worth buying instead of the 600? But great video tho !
I own the 2mm version of this. Love it! I think I am going to get the 0.5 and 0.7mm to complete the set. I personally remove the pocket clips and think they look way better without them. I also am aware of the wobble on these models (it doesn't exist on the 2mm but the internals are different) but I am also prepared to do the o ring mod.
schmidt easyflow 9000 m is a much better refill for the jotter it feels way less heavy and nice to write with, the blue ink is also a darker shade of blue, i havent tried the black so cannot comment on that.
I’ve used these throughout my life and they have been my favorite. I see they make a retractable version now and was wondering if anyone can testify to them writing as well and if the feeling you get when writing is different?
im a mangaka (mangaka means manga airties) also left handed and this pen feels so nice! Its really good for detail drawing and the writeing is mad good too! (btw i have bad grammer)
Graphgear 500 beats all the Rotrings! Probably the best mechanical pencil for drawing! For free drawing, you just add any of the Faber Castell TK 9400/4600 or the Staedtler 780 and you get the best drawing set,in terms of performance!
Yes, The Kuru Toga Advance Upgrade, unlike the Roulette which only has a metal grip is completely metal. You may be confused because the Kuru Toga Advance is plastic, but the Advance Upgrade is metal
