I love your content! I look forward to these. It is fun to hear what you have been up to, and lovely photos and videos here, too. Also, have been wondering what James Corden has been up to. Now I know. Must be nice to live by the Thames and be able to walk whenever you want to. I was there last year. I miss London. Thank you! Take care, and I wish you the best in getting what you are owed and what you deserve from those government (?) people. Gwen in Washington state, USA. 🌆🌆🌆
Bless you Gwen, that's very kind, thank you so much! It's lovely to know that people enjoy hearing about my adventures. 😊 And I am very lucky to live in such a wonderful city, that's true. Washington's great too though, I went there once during a visit to the States. Long time ago now, would love to go back one day. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DSADHMDH0dc.html
Thank you for such a nice reply, and WOW! thank you also for sending along your video of Washington D.C. (District of Columbia). It is nice to have. Very cool how you zoomed in on the White House for a close-up. Also, I had never seen the inside Ted Kennedy's office before! I was there in Washington D.C., too, about the last time you were, and my mom and I went up to the top of the Washington monument. What a view from up there. Don't know if people are still allowed to go up there. I live in the other Washington (Washington state), out by the Pacific ocean, in fact, I'm only about 40 minutes by car from the ocean. Oregon, to the south, isn't far away, either. I live in Olympia, the capitol city of the state of Washington. Actually it's not really big enough to be called a city by me, it's more the size of a "town". It's easy to get here from London, and back again. Whenever I fly to London and back, from Seattle to Heathrow or visa versa, the plane just flies non-stop over the polar route right into Heathrow, or Sea-Tac airport in Seattle, about an hour from my house. Easy-peasy. Thanks again for your reply and the very cool video of Washington D.C., and the excellent video of your adventures in London! Take great care, and have fun! Gwen
You're very welcome! 😊 And that's good additional info, I forgot America had more than one Washington, lol. I'm glad you're able to visit London sometimes as well. I'm glad you enjoyed that other video. My visit to Washington DC was part of a college exchange visit, which you can read a bit about and see all the other videos from here if you're interested: welleyenever.com/2000/05/07/video-journal-america-may-2000/ The videos are at the bottom of my travel playlist as well: ru-vid.com/group/PLipXZHHnBTiNc3D_5bVipIq9y7_wx1tSm
@@WellEyeNever..... I am really enjoying the videos of your trip over here. What a wonderful opportunity that must have been for all of you! Also love your commentaries. You have a nice and soothing speaking voice. It is strange to see nobody with a mobile phone in their hands in the New York City video. I will watch the Empire State Building video next. I was up there years ago. What a view. So glad to see these ..... thank you! Gwen
Thank you! 😊 I'm so glad I took a camera with me and was able to digitise the footage later, as those clips always bring back fond memories, and I'm delighted you're having fun going through them. It was an amazing opportunity indeed! The lack of mobile phones certainly shows it was a different time, yes. That fact, along with some of the advertising on display, plus the VHS quality, certainly dates it, in a good nostalgic way. And thank you for the kind compliments on my voice too. I don't like listening to myself particularly, like most people when they hear themselves, but I've had similar comments from others before, it is flattering!
Apart from I Want It All the blu ray videos are just upscaled standard definition and NOT HD as they (QP) couldn't be bothered in obtaining the original film negatives or HD masters from the Directors 'The Torpedo twins'. It's a a breach of trade description to call them 'HD' !
Esher demos recorded at George Harrison's house not George Martin's house -Btw, nice copy you've got, I'm not buying this because preferred the original mix rather than remix
This is the company we used, but there are others. If you click on each of the locations it tells you their various prices: www.heliair.com/product-category/helicopter-experiences/helicopter-rides-by-region/
Hey Laurence, you're very welcome, I had a great time! 👍 Thank you so much for all your help at the weekend, and for coming here to check out my ramblings too! 😀
Lovely photos and content. That soup and cheescake look delicious! I'm glad there is at least one (hopefully more) dog-friendly eateries there. I was in London and Stratford upon Avon where I have a lot of cousins, ten months ago. I got hooked on Sticky Toffee Pudding ..... yummy! Have fun! I hope you had a lovely Easter, too! From Washington state, south of Seattle.
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it! There are various dog-friendly places around, yeah, if you know where to look. And sticky toffee pudding is delicious, I quite agree! 😊
Just found your channel Glen, really lovely content. Didn't know Blackadder was on Blu Ray; might have to treat myself to a copy! Looking forward to more videos from you 🙂
Cheers Rob, much appreciated! I gave your channel a mention once, your videos about the city are great. And yes, the Blackadder Blu-ray's well worth it. 😊
Ah, I really appreciate that Glen, thank you so much! I' have 'The Young Ones' Blu Ray, so I really should pick up the Blackadder too, they will go well on the shelf together! ;-) Cheers and enjoy the rest of the weekend. @@WellEyeNever
Must take a visit to the National Portrait gallery at some point! Wonderful recommendations and glad your 2024 is off to a great start. Definitely going to try that Lupin show as well. Have a great day and thanks for your content ☺
Sounds like you had a fun packed Christmas Glen , as always thank you so much for all of your help over the last year and I’m very glad you enjoyed your day out with me. Let’s arrange one soon to celebrate our first year of working together :)
You're very welcome Emily, it's a pleasure working with you. Thank you for entrusting me and giving me the job, congratulations on all the progress you've made over the past year, and yes, we'll have to celebrate the anniversary. 😊
Quite annoyed that half the disks are dvd’s. Bit bloody lazy. I’ve got all those separate dvd releases and am looking forward to picking this nice looking set up. I was hoping there would be some brand new extras for this release. When you consider how bloody long it took for them to release this you’d think there would be some new extras?? I do like the new menus though. I just gotta get The young ones, Blackadder and Only Fools and Horses blu ray sets next.
I have a picture looking out of the statue of liberty crown toward the WTC when I went to NY as a 13yr old in 1993. It's a picture I will always cherish & keep close to my heart. This is a video I would want to save forever. To be able to show my children, grandchildren, & possibly great-grandchildren, what the WTC was & life was like before that terrible day.
@@macioliston0315It's one of the safest, if not THE safest skyscraper in the United States. Very thick concrete core. The concrete is special made to be almost impenetrable.
At 2:57...imagine that's your view as you're looking out a broken window clinging on to the side of the building for dear life while a raging inferno burns behind you and you have no way out! Those poor people. I can't even begin to comprehend the suffering so many people endured. 🙏 😢
I never heard of the trade towers until impact day and it was all over the news. I stayed glued to the t.v in hopes they found survivors. It was like it was not real. All those poor souls we lost that day. Evil really exist. How anyone can have that much hate
Thanks for sharing, very interesting to learn understand how you experience aniridia and the solutions you come up with. Would you mind sharing what visual acuity you have? thanks!
@@WellEyeNever thanks for the quick reply! Did your visual acuity change over the years or is it relatively stable? Does 6/60 mean that you are legally blind? Is there specific support available to you? Do you meet people with similar conditions?
It's remained stable over the years so far. It will likely start to deteriorate at some point though. My sight loss isn't severe, so I'm registered partially sighted, not blind. There is plenty of support available, from health providers to charity organisations, and other people that share my conditions. I've met lots of people with my conditions, such as at conferences and meetups run by organisations that support people with my conditions, and other general social gatherings and events for visually impaired people, plus I knew some people with my conditions in my school days as well. I also have a lot of connections with people on social media as well. So I don't feel lonely about it.
@@WellEyeNever That's great, I'm glad that there is plenty of support for you and a community to connect to. Do you know what causes the loss in visual acuity? From my understanding, the main purpose of the iris is to block out light when it's too bright. But that can be done by sunglasses too. So, with sunglasses on I'd expect people with aniridia to have otherwise normal vision. I read that aniridia often affects other parts of the eye too, so I assume this is the reason? Sorry for bombarding you with all these questions..
That's alright. Yes, aniridia affects other parts of the eye too, the iris is just the main impact of it. And I also have nystagmus as a side effect of the condition, which is common among people with aniridia. It basically comes down to a faulty gene that stopped the eye developing correctly when I was born.
Something I have not seen mentioned anywhere so it is extremely easy to miss is that the DVD booklets are included in the set as PDFs. The DVD booklet for a series can be found at the root directory of the Blu-ray for that series. If you have a Blu-ray drive for your PC you can just copy all the PDFs off the Blu-rays and put them somewhere more convenient for easy access later.
I had absolutely no idea about this, but have been able to verify via Ganymede.tv that it is indeed true. Sadly, and rather bizarrely, it's not mentioned anywhere in the set or the online product pages, hence very few people know about it. And I've got no way of accessing them, as I don't have a Blu-ray drive on my computer. But that's very good to know though, thanks for the info!
@ 4:37 you'll see a pre-repowered 1993 Orion V on the M7 and if you listen closely you can hear it's original 6v92 engine and Allison HTB-747 transmission
Thanks Ross. Yeah, it's been way too long since I was last in a TV audience in person. I was in the virtual audience for a Christmas edition of QI a couple of years back, which was fun, but obviously not the same experience. I must get myself to a show in person again.
Oh cool, thanks! There were certainly a lot of people there to see it. It's the first time I've managed to catch a bridge lift in action, and it was worth doing! 😊

I've recently acquired my own copy of this set and I was worried about its authenticity because the number doesn't have a leading zero (mine is 141049 instead of 0141049). I came across your video and it looks like it's all good!
Awesome to know what NYC looked like around the time I was conceived, I’ve never been there and the way the city is now I don’t know that I ever will get to experience the good NY.
