Hi , i'm Actually Wanted to Remove Some Links From Wikipedia Page Articles. I Tried With Valuable Sources But They Hesitate to Approve. is there any Tips for this Situation.
So if you've personally made a great discovery you can forget about adding it to Wikipedia. That's not allowed. If Einstein were to try and explain his theory of relativity Wikipedia would reject his edit and tell him to get lost. Wikipedia seems to be about publishing already known information from academic sources. Useless for pushing the frontiers of knowledge. I explained, from personal experience, the true meaning of the Actaeon myth and was told that I was 'vandalizing' the Actaeon thread. So the real meaning of this myth, which describes a childhood trauma, remains unspoken. Nice going Wikipedia. You are the best at censorship. You profess to present the truth. You can't handle the truth.
There’s also office protection, which is lock by the Wikimedia Foundation, while admins can still remove them and edit pages with it,they are advised not to do that without the Foundation’s permission. (They also used to have superprotect which only allows Wikimedia Foundation’s staff to edit, but was discard and never used in English Wiki.) (Wikipedia’s page on protection policy)
Thank you so much for this video. I was trying to do the same thing but the title of the section below was also getting removed. Can I ask you something? If I wish to become a long term contributor on wikipedia, should I be using the visual editor or the source editor? Like which one will be better for the long run? Currently I use the visual editor, but am ready to learn the source editor even if it looks complicated.
It perfectly acceptable to use the visual editor. Eventually you will find edits that will need the source editor to make. Just pay attention to wikimarkup as you are editing in the visual editor and it will help with becoming familiar with source editing.
Why is his text instantly appearing on the page? If it is a copy paste, is the clipboard part of the wiki creation page or is he using the clipboard on his own computer?
Also, there is a entire section of this in the Manual of Style but please do not use relative time phrases like "now", "currently" etc. Instead be more specific like "As of October 2023".
If I find a Wikipedia page that doesn't have a version in another language, for example, English, could I just translate it or would that lead to rejection? Thanks for your help.
What if I am creating a draft. How to write the reference title, retrived date and all the other reference information. I am really confused on this one
Sometimes an existing photo is cropped and reuploaded because a single element of the entire work was needed for illustration purposes. As long as the source image is properly noted, there is nothing different about the upload process.
