Chapman Partnership’s two state-of-the-art Homeless Assistance Centers serve as the primary intake facilities for Miami-Dade County’s Homeless Continuum of Care. Every night we house 800 men, women, and children, and serve an additional 450 family members in pre-shelter locations. But we’ve always understood that ending homelessness requires more than shelter.

By combining housing with caring support and wrap-around services that incorporate effective cradle-to-career programs, we help our neighbors overcome homelessness, and achieve and maintain long-term self-sufficiency. We move the needle on homelessness every day.

Our Mission is to provide comprehensive programs and services in collaboration with others that empower our residents with dignity and respect to overcome homelessness, and achieve and maintain long-term self-sufficiency.

Not true" they're not in it for people" they're in it their pockets. They're not helping people " they get the government money" then they kick you out to be homeless" if you have children they call DCF.

Absolutely Amazing. I did not know that there is a program out there like this. I always thought there should be though. What a wonderful man. It's so good to see that there's people in this world who make a difference. Bless you all.

There's no difference between a video like this and a Hollywood Blockbuster they're both fantasies they don't represent reality you're watching a fundraising infomercial directed by a big-time PR Company look at the people given the aid and their suits and ties take a good look at them and take a look at the faces of everyone they put in front of the camera as a client or a homeless person all Hollywood Casting make no mistake this is a business and there's quite a few people quite a few people employees they're pulling down big-time salaries that never leave the premises until it's time to go home

Where else can you Panhandle All Day drink beer all afternoon have a hot meal made for you sleeping in a nice climate controlled electric bill free free bed get fed a hot breakfast before a hard day of panhandling drinking and Lord knows what else that's the part that's the Chapman dream for Homestead shelter you could ask an employee about it but they be too busy talking on their cell phone or eating from the kitchen or sorting through the donation bin for designer bag repair of Jordans to wear do I sound cynical you're right because I've seen this go on for years as I've tried to rebuild my life and the only shelter in Homestead in all fairness met some really good people there on both sides of the equation under the management of this inept individual named mr. Bonet the place is a sewer of drugs drinking stealing denial I sat in this individual's office a day ago begging for an opportunity a week to get my leg right so I could return to work properly that couldn't be afforded to me because of his personal bias against me and at the same time I'm begging to keep what I have left individuals that are being afford a shelter or being arrested at the shopping center up the street carrying concealed weapons narcotics harassing tax-paying citizens of the community as they do the grocery shopping Chapman's idea of a job down here is panhandling the individuals that support the shelter in this area not only do the import Prime to the area they don't vent anybody they bring here it seems like they do the contrary they take the people of Homestead and send them to Miami and bring down everybody from Miami down to here and then have a bunch of people sitting around all day begging for bus passes and cigarettes but then I guess you wouldn't know that while you're having your tuxedo pressed or having a power lunch and eating donated food from the kitchen I spoke with my grievance with this individual he told me he drives home and gets gas every day and he doesn't see any of it will maybe he's not looking for it you lead by example not hiding in your office unless there's an opportunity for a camera or publicity shot or the hold Somebody's Baby up in front of the camera these individuals are not here to help people that are down on their luck they're here to use them as some kind of a tool like a magician uses a rabbit out of a hat when confronted they run behind the gate every limitation possible imaginable applies in my case but in the case of someone who doesn't work it's not even a legal resident of the United States can reside in the shelter for years at a time and spend every afternoon spending food stamps on beer the 30 days I spent on the street around here hello my eyes up to quite a bit that goes on around here they advertise it was 8000 homeless at one time and now there's 800 now they want to take credit for 8,000 people being homeless now they're not they probably moved away went to prison the graveyard I'd say a good vast many of them went that way I can remember one time not so long ago I passed through there I was the only one that had a job in the whole place residence my case manager didn't have any type of plan for me at that time I used to come at lunch time to meet with him once a week but he was always busy Council in a female or doing financial planning holding residents money I just would like people to know that every time they drive through the area that the the shelter is located in the majority the streets are lined with panhandlers and remember how comfortable there living tonight instead of looking for a job there just looking for your money take your money in your donations and give it to someone you actually know needs it I wonder how much the pr firm they're paid out of the money that should go to the homeless they paid this big time PR Company and how much it cost to make all these videos that's probably why they don't have money for bus passes and you and you can't go out and find jobs for people if you spend all your time having power luncheons and wear jeans to work Fridays and have a parking lot with a hundred parking spaces for employees when there's only three on shift and 10 of them for residents stuck in the front right behind the bus bench you think I'm making all this up I invite you to come down I'll give you a tour of the neighborhood introduce you to the guy that lives on the canal behind Publix or the three guys from the park over at Walgreens panhandling and then we can stop for Refreshments at a convenience store that was built off the backs of food stamps to the tune that they can't even take a food stamp anymore plenty of ice cold beer a thousand feet from the shelter matter fact I'll introduce you to a guy whose long- long-term homeless solution is to live on the front door of the convenience store he's been to the shelter at least 9 times that I know of and doesn't last more than a week does he he steals the dinner from the kitchen the mat off the front door but he's an entertaining guy

I've been to the Chapman partnership many times in my travels and I can truly say I've never ever seen a situation that you described it's unfortunate if this really happened but the individuals of the FRC do one of the best jobs a child care that I've personally seen and set a very good example for the children to follow

I'll tell you one thing that they do have a gift for self-promotion out of this world as I lay in my car with a broken leg getting no help whatsoever from a place that I worked harder than the people they pay their to do they think they sucker me every time with their videos with the diamonds and pearls and tuxedos on if they were if they were really truly about helping the homeless and people who have better lies why didn't they throw a party in the shelter for themselves there instead of downtown drinking champagne and slapping themselves on the back they mistakenly believe that i they are the engine instead of the Box Car why do they get a paycheck I've done many things for the people of the community around here for free and at their Chapman partnership how many of these big wheels up on the top there on the board in the corporation I bet they all pull a nice paycheck out of that place but I'll be the bad guy as usual because of the problem I had with him the first thing you're going to do is pull out their sword and shield their Kryptonite women and children and crying babies in the like anybody can put on a Salvation Army suit and stand on a street corner and collect for the poor show me where I'm wrong I

If the chatman's could see the way employee of the year Tammy at the South Center I should say queen Tammy presides over the shelter and tortures the residence there once was a saying around the shelter it don't matter how many times you fall what's important how many times you get up that changed with the latest group of self-importance blowhards that are more interested in photo ops and gaining points and they'll put their seal of approval on any cause as long as it is the will of someone they think and do something for him most of them that work there were homeless I just looked down their nose at the people that are in the same flight they were when it was their turn to to make a difference they used to make a difference years ago now it's just the who's first let me see your ID let me see your parking permit no I can't get you a toothbrush know I can't get you no soap I'm busy talking on my cell phone to my friends at home

I won't argue the fact that help can be found at Chapman partnership the day-to-day operations people in the South unit I've managed to turn the situation and the help to the same thing as standing on the street corner and somebody dropping a quarter in your cup as long as you're beholding to them that'll dictate your treatment show a work ethic and you might as well go ahead and hit the door

My name is Gerald Sanchez I suffered a broken ankle at a job I got after the company I worked at for a year-and-a-half went out of business and I ask for help on every door on every corner and have the door slammed in my face I was putting the cold with a broken ankle never could achieve the follow-up care I was actually putting the street on the day I was to have my ankle set and look and follow up with the specialist I've lost just about everything that I've worked the last 5 years to accomplish I've been sleeping in my car for the last 27 days with a broken ankle I've run up over $100,000 in medical bills for trips by ambulance to the emergency room crisis from the crisis unit I went to Jackson Hospital where I was assaulted in the emergency room on camera I ended up walking down Flagler Boulevard until I was picked up by fire rescue take me to Coral Gables Hospital we're through the mercy of God they stabilize my condition in an hour and a half and provided me with a $65 cab ride out of Coral Gables back to the Chapman partnership where I left my vehicle with all my possessions in it only to be in the same position again without a restroom water I couldn't even get the Outreach of Miami to even talk to me through the fence to try and get a motel room for less than $100 a night so I could at least lay down and sleep one night I went to a church and was afforded a bath while I was bathing my car was broken into because my windows were open and broken out all my clothes were stolen my car registration and other valuable paperwork my medical records half of them I could go on with this sad story for quite a while but one thing I learned out of this is that God can move mountains for you now is I still convalescing mybrokenleg I share whatever little bit I have with others everyday and I look forward every morning I get up and this is all because of the of God the community I live in won't spend $5 to help me but they'll spend $100,000 in medical bills for repetitive test smoking patches every social worker hands me a photocopied pamphlet with outdated phone numbers and the phone lines I called to Miami Outreach I get the same recording time and time again I've been to Chapman partnership 4 times but I'm only afforded a very short stay these last two times I've worked every time and had a job at one point that paid $52,000 a year but was sent out unprepared and lost everything again now I'm losing my health a simple broken ankle is almost killed me now I don't ask them for help I'm just waiting and hoping because of the intervention of God that I Stay Alive long enough to sleep in a bed again so when you think about the position you're in it could always be a lot worse I went to Kendall Regional Hospital only to be looked down upon because I hadn't bathed in quite a while and my clothes were not very clean and I wasn't covered in jewelry but I did have an experience they're one of the most regrettable tragedies a person could suffer had just happened before I walked in the door a family lost a child at that point I just stood up walked out and drove myself in pain with my suspended license broken vehicle and dirty body back to the area I've lived in my community I went to the Catholic Church in town here in Homestead and simply asked if they could give me a referral for an inexpensive motel room what I got in return was the priest asked me why I had no friends and 57 years of life and I said because I didn't have any money in my pocket and then God change things because of the phone that was stolen from me all my contact information was gone as I lay in as I lay on my car in front of a Circle K a gentleman I worked with two or three years ago woke me up and I told him basically a little bit of what has happened to me you reached in his pocket and he afforded me enough fuel to keep going because when you're on the street you have to keep moving you can't stop nowhere but but as I sit and wait for something to change only getting maybe 10-15 minutes sleep every 24 hours I witness the people that get the help as they're buying their six packs and other things and taking what the gift of a shelter and a soft bed means as I sit and wait for the cold tonight to come and watch this I stand in front of the convenience store not begging for change but talking to them about stop drinking and about really taking advantage of getting help over the course of the last 4 years I've nearly lost my life twice and I've never done anything to anybody that I'm aware of other than help them I've lost my way and all I needed was a helping hand for a week in a bed to convalesce my ankle and a simple broken ankle as I said it's turned into the public spending over $100,000 on medical bills numerous trips to the hospital I never violated a rule I always worked I went to the hospital recently on one of my last visits and I got a complete set of my medical records from my accident after watching this video I just watched on here I can't help but think I'm a complete Witness to every to my experience there and it doesn't match that video at all I lost my my father served in World War II my brother served in Vietnam and my uncle was killed in the World Trade Center and I have no one to help me they gave their life so that people can come to this country and live the American dream and that other people can have all the Second Chances and third chances and fourth and fifth and sixth chances I did learn something from this experience I put my faith in God so the next time you put your money in the donation box or your clothes just remember by law only 10% of what they taken goes to the people that need it and what right does someone have to decide who should get the helping who shouldn't get the help and that you have to call a hotline a thousand times and be told the same thing on a phone number that doesn't even work I tell you what I'll put it to the Pepsi challenge here's my phone number 305-699-1829 I think it'll only take text now because it's a minute phone mine was stolen the other day with all my clothes when I took that shower and I say all this to say what I see in the video is one thing the reality of the of what I've been offered there is completely different but then again I'm not someone you can put on a poster and collect a lot of money so I guess my life isn't worth much

Queen Tammy's favorite thing is to say no oh and go sleep in the park and we don't have time for that please give me the short version I wonder if those are things that was said to her that traumatized her when she was homeless several times herself employee of the year but a joke
