Don Piestrup) Producer: Rush drummer/lyricist Neil Peart
Thanks for sharing this! I honestly think this particular interpretation of the song is the best among them all… Haven’t been able to find it anywhere else… Hopefully you never take this one down…
Great band of stars ⭐️ young Eric M on Alto and Bobby Shew and other great splitting the lead trumpet book .. wish I could have been there to hear this super BR band
Dave’s technique is the best of any drummer I’ve ever seen. I guarantee he is the most technically advanced drummer you’ve ever seen, of course, without disregard to Buddy. I recently had the pleasure of meeting Dave, and I will say that for the rest of my life, I will always have a special spot for him in my heart.
No offense to those who might think otherwise, this reminds me of The Count’s Band at the Carnation Bandstand in mid-summer, late in the last set. I was there, there again now. Thanks for this vid.
Qué bonita, toda suavecita, toda cariñosita, llena de amor, no necesitan subir el ritmo, ni el volumen, la mantienen así todo el tiempo. Qué cosita tan linda.
I always laugh when these drummers have to read the music. Buddy just felt the music and played from the heart. Of course he didn’t read music.. I’m a big fan of Gregg’s.
It's so funny to read comments from the uninformed. Dave isn't trying to sound like Buddy Rich. Dave is his own man, as was Buddy, and they're two different players, but that doesn't take away from Weckl's amazing performance. And for those criticizing Weckl, how about posting a video of yourself playing along to this song? Yeah, didn't think so.
so disgusting a display they should have BURNED THIS awful..not even adequate its ugly non swinging and hes ruined a gorgeous tune yeah standing o..yeah man reet..fuck this shit im outta here
Let's not forget THE BAND! Buddy always had the hottest Big Band around. Any time you've got Steve Marcus on sax and a group that good you're in for some good music! OH, and Weckl does a REALLY good job here. No, not as good as Buddy did, but Buddy wasn't human, so that's not really a fair comparison. 😆
