In your recipe you don't say when to add the gelatine. You just talk about the glycerine packets. Can you help me with how and when I add the gelatine. Thank you.
I’m sure somebody has probably commented by now that you’re using way too much paint on your homemade plate and too many colors. (The more colors, the muddier the prints get.) Nevertheless, thank you for this demo! I’m making a plate asap 👏👏👏👏
thanks for sharing! you're gonna laugh about this, and you're probably gonna really appreciate the irony. I was actually looking for a way to make special-shaped frames for inspirational words for a project, and following the mad rabbit 'round the you-tube hole, I found your little tutorial. I first clicked on it because I really loved the awesomely colored birds and things. but then I saw the way you cut out the intended embelishment from the middle of the specially made card, and eurika!! of course, the finicky work around the legs won't do for a frame, but the body shape of the bird?! and a butterfly?!! exactly what I wanted!! cheers! 🍹
Just subscribed...loving your video! You mentioned that in "past classes you went crazy making decorated tapes using double sided carpet canvas tape on a roll". I really love the colorful samples you showed in this video, but I can't seem to find that class on You Tube to be able to go over your technique. Can you be more specific about the name and/or date that you did that class? Many thanks, Janet
Hi, great video for those of us that can not afford the expensive extra large gelli plates. Just a question to confirm form the UK - Does '1 c. hot water' mean '1 cup of hot water'? I have never seen that abbreviation before and only ever use metric/imperial measurements in the kitchen. I don't want to buy all the ingredients, guess it means that, mess it up and waste money, thanks 😊
So interesting!!!! Is that white vein made from a different type of paint? I thought white watercolor on previously painted dark background does not work.
Thank you for watching! The white vein is made with a white opaque watercolor. I used Dr. PH Martins' bleed-proof white. It's great for when you need to bring back those highlights!
Washi tape is masking tape, its designed to be removed and not be permanent. if you want it to be permanent on your ephemera you need to glue them down, just fyi. ;) I like to stamp on the washi tapes i make, using medical paper tape is great because you can match anything, and its permanent, unlike the real washi tapes.
LOVE seeing your process! The mistakes and failures are real for all of us. I have deep respect for your process and your transparency! Great color choices, and great composition work-
These are super fun! I'm reading Wabi Sabi right now and learning about Japanese principles and this relaxing painting technique fits right in with my current theme! Thanks so much for sharing.
This is my first time seeing you, and I have enjoyed your video very much. I am subscribing to you and can't wait to see your other videos. Thank you so much. I am disabled, and the only things I can do are work, make cards, and crochet. I never leave my home because it is so hard for me. So, watching these videos makes my day, and again, I greatly enjoyed this one.
@@KarenElaine I love that you have come up with making different things outside the box. Using Washi Tape to make templates of birds or anything to put on cards is just amazing. I can't wait to see your other great designs.
Wouldnt the process be quicker if you traced the bird onto the paper and fill that central area eith some over hang? I am going to try make washi tape. The prices of store bought is nuts.
Hello Karen.Great techniques. I haven’t watched it all yet but I’m busting to suggest that before you put your stencil in the bath, put it face down on another paper to transfer the reverse image saving even more paint.
True.... the paint I now realize I left on rollers, brushes, stencils, trays, stamps, spongies....😢😢😢and washed away😮😮😮. Now rollers n brushes get sealed in airtight containers n rest are used til dry. ... all clean up cloths or napkins are used for projects❤
