😍❤️ I really like these fabric collage pieces. I have several crocheted pieces but I have yet to cut any of them up. I’m afraid if I do I’ll get an unraveling mess. Do you use fray check or something similar to keep the pieces from unraveling?
@@carolbeeding4270 Thanks Carol! No, I just cut them up into managable sizes. The crocheted pieces stay together pretty good because every stitch is basically a knot.
Thanks Ana! A thin layer of matte gel medium wouldl work, but you don't want to get the paper too wet because it will buckle and bubble up when drying. Be sure and use matte because you wouldn't want the glossy stuff showing through the holes or smudging on top of the doiley. In my experience, ModPodge is just too wet to work well as those doilies are just so thin and delicate.
I round the spine of one signature journal by scoring the area on both sides of the fold. Here's a video on how I do it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HH26UFkspQU.htmlsi=TdJOadhtC-0eiS9X
Hi Ana! Some people put their papers outside to dry with some kind of weight on them so they won't blow away. I have spread them out on a large table covered with plastic to air dry for a few days.
Thanks Ana! I tried the three ring binders with the thin plastic page protector sheets for photos and the papers kept sliding out of them and flying all over the room every time I picked up the binder. So slippery! I don't have that problem with the thicker plastic stick on pockets.
@@beckysjournals I was thinking to use card stock paper, in the binder and stick those pockets like you have on the page. I have those pockets and you gave me an idea on how to use them 😀
Becky, this video was very, very helpful. I have collected Little Golden books since my children were little. My oldest child is now 46 years old. I now read them to my grands. Still collecting when I find them at thrift stores. I can make tons of these journals. Do you have any ideas on how to use them as photo albums for those, like me, who don’t journal? I don’t know if you want to share this on here, but what do you charge for your Little Golden Book and Readers Digest journals? Right now I am working on an altered Readers Digest Book journal. Thank you for sharing your talents. You do make beautiful journals. Love you and God bless.
Such a creative idea! The fronts and backs are quite different too which is nice. You could glue two together if you really dislike some sides and that way only display the ones you do.I think brown can be a hard sell except in the Fall in this community of pink lovers 😅😅 Thanks for sharing your technique 😊
@@beckysjournals oh I got that they were being especially made for those journals, smart move. I was having a little chuckle with the pink comment because I don't like pinks much, except on pink flowers, but it's everywhere 😅
I just found a few RD books, and am planning to try my hand at making a journal from them. I have limited vision, so sewing the signatures in can be a challenge. I love both the journals your showing in this video. They are beautiful. Happy Easter to you.
I’m really enjoying this series and the steps you take in creating your journals. I agree with Carol on signatures. Anymore than two and I feel burned out and don’t feel like finishing.
