To be honest, i'm new to this channel and have just started out collecting 7" singles. This podcast was actually quite entertaining to be honest. I look forward to the next installment.
The RU-vid algorithm suggested your video. Fun thumbnail so I clicked it. However, I pressed pause and started typing this comment after 8 seconds because the audio was HORRENDOUS. I am sure you put a lot of thoughtfulness in the entire video and your content. However, I (and I assume many others will never know) because their first intro to your channel was terrible sound. Hope you figure out the sound or nothing else will matter.
I think that’s just my accent.. 😂 Kidding, it sounded ok when I loaded it, but my mum told me the same so I bought a microphone for the next one. You do what your mum says right? Don’t get excited though, you’ll then be able to hear what an utter shambles it is as well as seeing it 😁
That record bag took me back as well.. there was a Quirks in Southport.. it relocated to Ormskirk in 88.. I remember the Ormskirk shop well.. Soundsgood and Will Parkers records had shut down.. then Quirks showed up.
The best Sticky fingers cover is the tin can cover I'm sure its the Spanish realise they didn't want the you know what in a pair of jeans but instead preferred severed fingers coming out of a can of blood
Good morning - thank you for the kind comments, although it’s all made up on the spot and I’m a complete amateur - who knows what rubbish will come next! Drop me a DM to collectsurvive@icloud.com and I can let you know about the PH if you you like 😁👍🏼
James last only made 2 half decent albums Best Kept Secret AKA In Los Angeles and Voodoo Party both albums were made around the same time he actually tried to change his sound both albums are in the soul funk style but the rest of what he did was more or less now £1 charity bin records
“If you’re not into metal you are not my friend, heavy metal……or no metal at all. Wimp’s & poseurs leave the hall” I shit ye not - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Wxwcr72VcKg.html
That’s very kind, but you’ll soon be turning the sound down and fast forwarding through the flick through like everyone else 😂 Pop in when you’re next in town, will be good to meet 👍🏼
@collectsurviverecordrecordshopli9934 that Excel lp is ok. Standard crossover thrash but catchy. If anyone is after more full on crossover skate thrash look to earlier releases. Especially the “Welcome to Venice” comp (Excel, Suicidal Tendencies, Beowulf, No Mercy….& someone else!) There’s my bit of useless info.
In my time off work I’ve been thinking, you should use Plato quotes to discuss the juxtaposition of music & erm, what was it, juxtaposition of music in something like ern environmental psychology. Just a thought.
Great stuff Alan, News of the world for me in that debate, Sheer heart attack and Spread your wings, what tracks they are. Can't agree on the studio version of Staying power, prefer the live version, love Cool cat. Hope to visit again soon. Sean from Wales
If you want a lesson in jimmy smith but unsure you’ll like the music much, if you havent already got into the Beastie Boys. They’re super fans, that KILLER bass line on Root Down (also featuring the king voice of q-tip from a tribe called quest) but also my favourite Professors Booty “you got the boomin system but it’s sloshin out doo-doo, you think it’s sugar hill but it’s watered down yoo-hoo, I’ve been though many times in which I though I might lose it. The only thing that saved me has always been music” From the lp Check your head. When they REALLY started playing their instruments. Stone cold classic
