HOLA, YA COMPRÉ LA PARTE DE ABAJO DEL ANDAMIO EN LA EMPRESA EASY, PERO NO TENÍAN EL RESTO DE LOS ACCESORIOS, ME GUSTARIA COMPRARLOS PUDEN INDICARME DONDE Y COMO ADQUIRIRLOS. HUGO DE BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA. GRACIAS.
Nice build BUT aluminum MELTS around 1100 degrees F, if a battery has a thermal runaway it will MELT the aluminum, it's better to be STEEL welded together.
I just found you guys on IG, (Followed), tracked you to the YT, (Liked 👍🏼, and subscribed 😉) I have to say, I LOVED THIS VIDEO!! I've done 10Ks [not since HS and college 🙄] but I remember what all it takes... Wow, 50K !! 😮 🎉🎉 to you guys 🎉🎉🎉 As for videoing while running, 🫨 I give you both tremendous credit. And the editing, adding in the aerial view of the course, trail marked in red, was brilliantly done!! 🎉🥳🎉 I wish there was a way to have more people watch and comment, but right now I don't know anyone else who runs/ran. I will link to this when I get my Blog up and running 🤞🏻 Thanks for a Super Great video, and a glimpse of the Long Hunter 50K!! 😊
Thank you very much! This certainly was an extra involved project to train, capture, and edit but a delight to share. We have even better cameras for our next race. I hope you’ll enjoy it as well when we finally post that. 😅
First order of business, buy a bunch of expensive tools. spend a week putting it all togethor, or just buy a decent battery box/ tool box, and build the entire unit in that..
Thank you for the great video and webpage! Worked out exactly like planned with your additional help. As an engineer, a couple of notes on all this for others ... Get the 3/8-24UN tap and run several times thru each front anchor plate to clear out the paint and such. The bolts should thread in by-hand easily. This makes mounting the front anchor plate SO much easier! Fine thread bolts are ~very easy to cross-thread! Otherwise, great helper vid! (2020 Ram 3500 Diesel)
very well done video, I bought a setup that had this already installed and now I can actually make sure it was all done correctly, very appreciative for your post!
@@LegendaryJim You are correct. FLIR doesn't allow you to remove the watermark. This video was taken using a Seek thermal camera as part of a comparison article for FLIR vs. Seek thermal cameras: roamlab.com/best-thermal-camera/
@@Roamlab ok... *sigh* I was hoping you'd have a fix for me. I hear from someone else the FLIR desktop app will allow you to remove it from images, but I haven't tested that claim yet.
At 2:10 you installed that tab backwards. The threaded side should be on the inside, so when I install the screw, you make it tighten the whole sandwich together and it holds tighter.
Very helpful. The dealer didn’t space the guide poles correctly on my truck. It’s always been a real bugger to alight camper. Know I can fix it and hopefully it will not be so difficult to load camper. Thanks!
Very interesting. Question: if you run two MPPT 100/50 solar chargers in parallel like that shown, do they need to communicate with each other? Presently I have one 100/50 and 880 watts of 18V panels divided as three identical 160 watt, two identical 200 watt, all same manufacturer, all same voltage, all in parallel. It rarely goes over 76% efficiency = 670 watts, and the charger is rated for 700 watts where anything exceeding that is basically left unused. I plan to buy a second 1000/50 and four 200-watt panels identical to the two 200 watt panels that I currently have. I use 6 gauge for the charger output (the maximum size that will fit the charger) and have no problems whatsoever other than I need more power. Do you foresee any issues?
I use the frame mount type with no holes to drill and to me the frame would be a lot stronger and to me the bed mounts would let the camper to sway a tiny bit more.
What size are the factory screws? Mine were missing and I did not notice until it was too late when I bought it. I know it's 8mm to take it off, but what size are the actual screws. So I can purchase new ones. I have a 2021 Ram Rebel if that matters
ohh, thats exactly like what we're looking for to go on our Toyota pickup. We don't haul a truck camper but our 1987 Ford Conquest has zero storage so I'm looking to add storage to our pickup. Thanks for sharing, now I know more about where to start looking!
I like the design, look and price of the Happijac mount over the 'lower frame mounts' that cost 2x more...the drilling and assembly are a bit undesirable, but overall, the price is the big dissuader on the $900 frame mounts (where there's $100 of steel, and $800 of profit for the company).
The fender flares are designed to fit the manufacturer's body, so one flare could fit on similar bodies but not all. Bushwacker has a vehicle selector on their website so you can narrow down what flares will fit on your rig.
Do you by any chance sell your battery boxes? I just bought my first 12V lith ion deep cycle battery for a trolling motor but I can't find a suitable battery box for it. I'd be willing to pay you for one, let me know, thanks!
Looks nice! I’m still learning so might be a stupid question, but what size wire is used for negative terminal? Wondering what the current carrying capacity is.
Not stupid at all. Getting the right sized wire makes a world of difference. We use 1/0 gauge wire to connect the batteries to each other and the busbars. That's a good reminder, though, I should make a video of how the whole system comes together.
