I'd recommend switching your camera FPS off of the electrical grid frequency, to remove the light flicker. If they have a 50Hz grid, set your camera to 60FPS and vice versa.
Yes unfortunately nothing you can do with the Aus IDP as its only issued to cover the 1949 act. Since you have some time up your sleeve you can try ordering an online IDP from a European country that covers the 1968 treaty. In our experience their main focus point was the date on the front of the booklet. They check specifically to see if it is 1949 or 1968. They looked at the stamp for motorbike and the photo too but this had little impact. One of our fellow travellers did not have motorbike stamp but still paid the same 2 mil fine that we did.

I think its a nice beach town but I struggled to find things to do. There are so many huge hotels so its obviously a popular place. So Id really like to know some amazing things to do/see around the city.
Yes I have to agree, food and beverage around Sukhumvit are way up there. I found a great Airbnb near Nana this trip which was great value, just older decor. But huge rooms which was nice. Now i jump on BTS and go a few stops and found much lower prices for food. Have you tried Vietnam? It's fantastic value.
