I'll be taking my first overseas flight on Singapore Airlines in premium economy in August. 16 hour flight. I happened to stumble across something of a sale and the premium economy ticket wasn't much more than what economy was going for at the time, and that includes a little extra I spent for a "solo" seat on the A350-ULR. I'm sure the few hundred dollars extra I spent will be worth it.
You can actually continue onwards to Southeast Asia on the flight. In fact SQ25 from JFK🇺🇲 via FRA🇩🇪 has a 2 hr transfer to SQ910 to MNL🇵🇭 from SIN🇸🇬 which makes it the best option for a Filipino traveler from New York to Manila that is willing to avoid PR127 JFK🇺🇲-MNL🇵🇭. Same is said for the original world's longest flight SQ21 EWR🇺🇲-SIN🇸🇬 with a 2hr connection to MNL🇵🇭 on SQ918 from SIN🇸🇬

Thank you for the comment. So funny story, I saw ppl like via rail fan 6448 and Amtrak guy 365 naming themselves after their favorite train number or engine number. The 4905 comes from GP40-2 #4905 on NJT Port Jervis line. I have yet to get a better picture of it, as the only picture I took was in allendale years ago in portrait mode.
I believe there are 4 Danbury-NYC round trips on weekdays. Some of the shuttles also run to Stamford. The electrification you see at the start of the branch in SoNo is for storing electric trains during the walk bridge replacement

Besides "new" trains Shore Line East is so much worse than it was in 2021. Less service including the fact it is missing critical peak trains, little care for restoring service by CT, and little ridership growth.
At least the new trains are cleaner though, but there is always a vibe on SLE trains, despite the upgraded rolling stock. It feels like your in the twilight zone.

Two things, One, this video is like two years old and this was my second video of this kind, and by the way, if you could not tell, it's terribly edited. Two, despite you claiming "you would not let us see the food that was served" makes it clear you did not watch the entire thing. at 8:43, I do "let you see the food that was served". Now I do acknowledge that my video is terrible because I made this two years ago on imovie when I was in middle school, but I indeed still "let you see the food that was served", so what you say here is false. First class doesn't exist on LNWR as of May 23. It's still in situ but the First Class signs have (mainly) been removed so it's a free for all. Always makes me chuckle that people now rush for it. I find the some of the seats lack padding in First, like sitting on a slab of concrete. Suspect over time it'll be refurbished and all traces removed. It was never the best but by no means the worst.
There should either be a electronic screen or paper slip that tells you from which station to which the seat is reserved. in Germany, the term "ggf. Freigeben" on the electronic screens means that there seats are fair game so feel free to sit in those if you don't have a reservation,.

Always enjoy your trip reports. Does seem somewhat pricy but with inflaton perhaps not. The average speed of 98 mph was very good for the 85 mile trip. Any idea what the top speed may have been?
To make this cable car a Historic and cost Millions of dollars to move it and restore it. I cant understand why they never thought of giving the same status to Cliftons Cafeterias. Both the one on Broadway and the one on Olive st.

@@The4905 I have family on the Jersey side and almost every trip we took the Port Imperial ferry to midtown and I remembered from my last trip that they include that bus with the fare. It has a few routes from there. Not bad but this was 2019 so I'm not sure what the pandemic did to those bus routes and fares
@@luigidude44 I had no idea…. Then again I’m not a NY WATERWAY regular, I usually take the port imperial to midtown route on occasion to take the 7 train
@@The4905 I'm not a regular either, but it's something to look into. There's also a NJ bus that goes from the George Washington Bridge Transit Center to the Port Authority Bus Terminal that's also a cheaper option. I'm not sure if the 7 cuts through either of them but it helps get into Manhattan as well from NJ

Ironing board seats are bullshit, but if the trip is short (I mean 10-20 minutes), I don't mind them. But I heard that they operate at Brighton to Bedford route, which takes 2-2,5 hrs to fully complete, now I am shocked how's this even LEGAL to put these trains to 1 hour or more long journeys
