I was a little kid in the 60s rummaging through my oldest brothers stack of 45s. Beatles, Stones, CCR, but this record too was also a big favorite! This should be played at NFL games!
I wonder if this was a Bobby cover demo later overdubbed w/ session musicians, like the Fireballs did with Buddy Holly in fact. It has that same sound of different sound dynamic ranges on different tracks (besides EQ limits normally applied to any mix.) I'm no purist though, it sounds cool. Couldn't god have found something better to do that day than kill Bobby Fuller? What a gem.
Kiitos, hyvää päivää! Best version. Räägin küll drink of water ‘fore I drive just a küll drink of water ‘fore I drive Well John Henry did the best a man Ya know Ever did in drive Something on them water and that beauty how they taught her Just a küll kind of beauty by my side Way out past Kuressaare gotta ride Lord, Lord Läänemeri Blues
Still love this Motown hit today… “Pull a shotgun on the rooster and dare him to crow, Hotfoot anybody sleeping’, Make ‘em get out on the floor.” The Funk Brothers gettin’ it. Good ‘ol days ✌🏼
I grew up listening to 16 tons with Tennessee Ernie Ford's interpretation, I have trouble giving it the rock beat/fast dance version. Imo it's a sing that should be rendered with a deep and desperate tone, like Tennessee or Johnny Cash, like a bull steer that somehow knows it's headed to the slaughter house
