My old stomping grounds lake Hudson below grand used to be one of the best lakes in the country to catch shear numbers of bass in the 1 to 4 pound range a good day on Hudson you could catch between 50 to 100 bass and the pump back lake up there has some nice smallmouth my best being a 7 pounder I sure miss fishing north east Oklahoma
Looks like a decent practice. I really hope you have a great tournament Jaret! Thanks for sharing! I also hope you and your family have a great weekend!
Nice finish Jaret! It's true... as a co you have to be able to adapt and my motto is take whatever you are given at that point and time. It's not always fun fishing out of the back but you try and keep a positive mental attitude and do the best you can.
You were in a good spot on those 2 channel Swings up haskins, but the big ones just aren't up there right now as I live in theodosia and fish those swings several times a week.
Well I hate when it's a top water bite and the guy in the front don't give me at least a foot and a half to throw parallel with the bank. I seen the woman you were practicing with had gotten a lot more room than what you're giving this poor dude😮
Optimal word there is “practice”. Just FYI, my co angler knew what I was going to do prior to the tournament and we had a great agreement and understanding. Seems that if I was a terrible boater I wouldn’t have let him fish by himself for 30-45 minutes that day. Seems like I wouldn’t have left my bait in the water when I had a Wolfpack come in after I caught one to maximize his chances to catch a keeper. Seems that if someone is really is truly miserable in the back of the boat they would try to convert to boater……but who knows…..I may just be off my rocker.
It’s all good. I got your point. From a co angler perspective I understand the frustration of being welded to a bank. I also know the frustration of being with a scoper. That’s the bad thing about being a co. You are at your boaters mercy. However, I try my best to make sure that all of my co anglers have a fair shot.
I will say this. You can ask both of my cos what I told them prior to the event and they’ll tell you the same thing…..I would be tight early and back off later in the day.
Great job Jaret! Enjoyed going along with you out there! Now do what ya got to do, and get what you need on Day 2! Rootin for you buddy! You can do it!
Depends on what I’m throwing. Cranking, hard to beat Berkeley Big Game 15 lb mono. Topwater and flipping, 17 lb sublime floro. Spinning rigs I throw spider line braid to a floro leader. My leader is usually sunline steelhead and salmon leader (abrasion resistant)
3rd place finish is awesome! Definitely too bad about that one that came off. But that's all part of fishing. Jayden and Willie did a fine job! Thanks for sharing Jaret!
That is pendleton bridge area,,, that was probably a big catfish. I bass fish that area and have seen them that size down there. Especially out next to the rocks in that current between the rocks. 38 feet deep right there. Plenty of bait fish too
Great job! Been watching closely your actions on Pendleton Been there once and was clueless for most part. Your videos are very helpful. Good luck in Bull Shoals & see you at Dardanelle!
Were you on the east side of the dam? Not real familiar with the area but i was thinking thats the first dam on the Arkansas from the Mississippi River. If so, that was most likely a Bull Shark. They can live in freshwater and have been seen north of St. Louis in the Mississippi River. Alton illinois to be exact.
