I love wrestling, and i love wrestling collectables mostly belts and action figures. I redo all of my own belts by re-stoning the plates, and re-texturing the straps. I also do light buffing on tarnished plates, as well as curving of the plates. I hope you guys and gals enjoy the vids!
Hey there! Thank you so much for the subscription and the compliment. Unfortunately at this time my backlog has gotten a bit to overloaded. I do this in my free time and here lately I haven't had any lol. Once I start taking new customers again I will definitely message you. I will tell you though My prices are not typically as low as the going rate.
I have all the stones purchased I just haven't had the time My work schedule has picked up. Me and my family also moved into our new home I've been doing a lot of work on that as well. Once all my side projects are finished up I'm going to get back to belts I still have three in que in front of the undisputed universal.
Im fixing my V1 right now: i like the lightness of weight personally. I have used gold leafing and i have liked the results of appearance for the plates. Im looking around for CZs but will check etsy too
Thank you for that I had no idea I just ordered some. If you're looking for stones this is what I do type in the size so if you need 4 mm x 4 mm cubics zirconia clear loose round. Or if you need square or any other shape put that at the end I have very good luck searching this way. If you use those parameters you'll get better results. eBay and Amazon have a large very good variety although some sizes are still very difficult to source.
Wow those are awesome.....I've always wanted the BiG Gold Belt.....definitely gota get one....I saw a wwe truck outside during a show with Ric on the trailer so I guess things are kool between them
I couldn't tell you right off the top of my head. That is a very small hole I know it is two millimeter but I don't know what that transitions to on a drill bit. I will get back to you on that one.
I’ll be doing my belt in the upcoming weeks , I’m thinking a 1/16 drill bit ? 2mm is like .078 and 1/16 is .062 , also if u know the size for the 4mm squares , and I’m assuming the oval stones u had to dremel for the odd shape ?
@@stevenv116 Yes I definitely had to dremel the ovals as well as the triangles. I tried to drill the triangle but I still had to get in there with a Dremel to get the corners to allow the stone to sit flat. Also be careful not to go too low on the oval holes or the stone will sink in instead of being level.
@@RaffordDesigns I’m not looking forward to doing this belt lol but I been holding off to long , I did the US spinner belt a few weeks back and it was pretty easy I got away with using a center punch instead of drilling to make the sockets deeper
@@stevenv116 I don't blame you one bit I've done eight spinners every version from rated r to the twin eagles on each side and the raw and SmackDown plates they always take me the longest there's close to if not over over 3,000 Stones on that belt.
I'm trying to restone my Undisputed V2 but still waiting on my 13mm gems to come in from Etsy. 13mm have been a little difficult to find. Finally found them on Etsy about 3 weeks ago and still waiting for them to come in.
Hopefully they come soon. When you search for stones you can also try eBay or amazon. What usually pulls better results for me is searching something like this, 13mm cubic ziconia round clear loose. Loose is the biggest part of the search.
Nice job. I'm still deciding which Big Eagle to get for my collection. At first I was gonna get the Block Logo but now I'm starting to sway towards the Scratch Logo. Fortunately I'm not in a big rush to add this belt. As popular as this belt is for many it's not as high on my list, but I attribute that to me growing up in the 80's. The belts from the 80's have a slightly higher appeal for my collection.
This will be my next restone project. I'm not a particular fan of this belt, however the CZs really enhance the look. It's definitely a belt worth having in one's collection. Especially since WWE used this design for many years. Hopefully I won't have too much trouble finding the gems I need.
Are you using Gem Tac glue? Looks like you did a good job with the restone. Hopefully I can do it just as well. Yeah, I started collecting belts about 3 years ago. I have about 9 belts now. I did my first restone on 2 of my simple belts (NWA Heavyweight Domed Globe & Undisputed V2). My next restone projects will be the Network Logo and the Million Dollar belt (neither one do I currently own). Pretty soon I'm gonna start learning to do the leather straps. I love this hobby and learning to do the restone and leather straps is an added bonus. I thought about making extra cash by doing restone and leather straps for people, but like you said dealing with unhappy customers is not something I care to deal with. Some of them will complain just to get a cheaper price.
Exactly! I have never tried my hand at releathering. I was told it is a little pricey getting into leather and that i would need a good bit of space. I have been collecting for about 6 years the last time i counted my collection i believe it was a little over maybe a little under 50. I have restoned all of them that require except 4 of them as far as the glue I started using Cruzix B-7000 it is great for bonding glass to metal.
@@RaffordDesigns I asked SimpsonsRestoning yesterday what glue he uses and he said e-6000. I had bought Gem-Tac and used it on my Domed Globe and I didn't like that it came out of the tube white colored. It clears when it dries but it kinda made my CZ look a little foggy. I bought the e-6000 and re-did my Domed Globe and I liked it much better than Gem-Tac. The only thing I didn't like about the e-6000 is that it's kinda stringy/messy when applying. I gotta figure out how to use it without getting it all over my metal plates. Yeah, leather work definitely requires a little investment and a decent workspace. Workspace I have, but it might take me awhile to aquire the tools. Gonna start off as simple as possible with strap making. But, I tell myself, "It's $300 to buy just one leather strap so might as well invest in the tools and maybe even be able to sell some straps to make that money back." Plus, I can learn to make other leather items too (wallets, regular belts, knife sheath, etc...). But most importantly, it just looks fun. I think I would love making new straps for my belts.
I used to love the rock as a wrestler. Hell lol I have his custom side plates and his custom Brahma bull championship. Unfortunately Now he's just not the same I know he's older and he just comes back for limited time but I feel like he has kind of lost what made him great. I think the thing with him and Roman could be really great. If you listen to the last time he was cutting his promo about sitting at the head of the table when he said if you smell what the rock is cooking he didn't do it like the rock he did it like an actor listen to how he said cooking I know it's small things but as a wrestler I had a lot of respect as a person I've seen and heard multiple things that make me just not care for him. Unfortunately I have the same opinion on Cena. As far as Cena goes though I feel like his promos are just as good just not his in-ring ability. Just my views though
Thanks man! I really appreciate that. I used a heat gun on the back side of the plate Moving up and down the plate for 3 to 5 minutes. I used heat resistant gloves to work the plate. This time I had to use what I had so I put a folded up towel on the hand rail of an outdoor staircase and put the middle of the plate on the handrail I used my body weight to lean on both sides evenly but without enough force to harm the plate. I repeated this process until I got the plate to a good curve. Thanks for watching.
Hey there so these belts are plated. There are few options when it comes to paint to replicate the original look one option though is gold automotive paint but usually that has flakes its not just a gloss like on the championships. The process for replating is time consuming and expensive I have not found a perfect solution yet. The stones I use are cubic zirconia. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.
I have both the WWF Big Eagle and Undisputed championship replicas. I used Rustoleum hoping for mirror effects with no results. What do you recommend for shinier plates? And what tools do you use to remove the old stones on plates? Thank you.
It really depends if the top coat of your plating is gone or wearing. You will have a hard time as you get deeper into the plate it may get shinier but the color or tone will change. If you are trying to clean them I use alcohol wipes with microfiber cloth after polishing. In the past I was using a metal polish. That is how I found out how thin the plating that is applied is it will get shiny but the gold fades. To remove the stones I crafted custom picks that I tap on the back of to knock the stone free, However one of my subscribers commented asking about a heat gun to loosen the glue. I will be trying a hair dryer along with picks on the next one.
No I usually use a pick and tap on the back of the stone to knock it out. That is a great idea though i will try it in the future. I would assume as long as you keep the flow of air moving i do not think a hair dryer will hurt anything.
I 100% agree. I miss AEW dynamite and Black and Gold NXT battleing back when adam cole was NXT champ. Long live the ndiputed Era! and the Triple H era.
Im waiting for a video of this belt being releathered. I don't like Seth Rollins gimmick neither,i really think he should go heel,or go back to the architect
