Teflon washers are almost as underrated as Emerson knives are overrated. I really like the designs, so I convince myself to try one every 5 years or so but without fail the first hard cut introduces massive lockup issues. It makes the lockbar go to 100%+ lockup, and then be able to slip unless it's either waved out full force or whipped open with tons of wrist. CQC7 (x2) cqc15, Hattin, Persian and Kwaiken have all done it. I'm sure your's is perfect though.
@CNYKnifeNut Mine seems to travel due to a lose pivot. The lock geometry is terrible on all of his knives and he uses the smallest contact point between the blade and the liner so they don't last very long. The locks are secure in my experience though
Emersons and microtechs are the only knives ive felt comfortable beating up on. More so Emerson...the 154 just holds up. Never chips and is easy to sharpen. Microtechs have solid super high end construction but the m390 has failed me at times probably due to how hard it is.
Carried that knife for 3 years before losing it. Loved that knife, but was not willing to spend that money again. Stumbled across a knockoff on Amazon for $25. Identical, except S30V. Not afraid to lose it.
I've got one, paid £17... that's about $20... can't believe the quality, its one of my favourite knives in my collection even if it's one of the cheapest... Great review. : -)
@TooManyChoices1 Check one out in person. It's very hard to tell a difference between this and something like a 1moa RMR. When compared to the aimpoint t2 the dots look nearly identical when compared on similar brightness settings.
Buy some rubber grip tape and it's much nicer to use but sticks more in the pocket Also need to lightly mod so it's less stiff, but once you spend the time it's much nicer
Sooo you try to buy only American made. Glock is not, but because they are European you’re cool with it? What’s your logic behind that? Seems to be a bigot mentality…
I have the purple version. And i use it a lot. Mostly for crafting and tinkering. Not needing anything for heavy duty. It goes a long way if you don't use and abuse it.
Hey man, separate topic: Roman Kasse out of Switzerland that did that reblade for your Anthem. I'm thinking of getting something from him. Was he trustworthy and honest to deal with?
I think the FM1 will probably resolve a lot of the issues you point out, but the handle being too thin to use comfortably in any way even slightly resembling hard use is the real fatal flaw, and the FM1 looks even thinner. I cant wait until that trend dies.
Idk man, you said you sent it off for warranty, so they would’ve replaced the springs if one broke. So freezer right, condensation builds up, so the water that builds up “could” affect the springs… I would buy the proprietary tool and take it apart myself, CLEAN everything, and either use REM ( Remington ) Oil, or other OTF Oil. You could have some gunk or something small in there somewhere. But yea it shouldn’t be doing that.
