I have these on my RMax 1000 and love them. In choosing these Plastic Skid Plates they are as rugged as the aluminum ones but as you cross rocks/downed trees/etc. they allow you to easily glide over the obstruction as oppose to having metal skid plates that will bring you to a grinding halt. I also have these on an older SxS and it has protected the machine very well and never allowed me to get hung up on obstacles.
Thanks for posting this video. I just bought an RMAX & want to get a skid plate…are you happy with the trail amor & have you used any of their other products like AR Guards?
@@thenotoriousgib365 : also, It bears mentioning that my cage bolts didn't slip right through the holes easily. when I unbolted the stock bolts. the holes went misaligned and it was a whole series of using C- clamps and other devices to get everything lined back up; and then trying to get the nuts back on them from the back was utter nightmare!
I swapped left side bracket to right side and vise versa. This way the mirror sat about a inch higher. When mirror folded in better clearance over the door when getting out.
I’ve had these on my rmax for a year now. I never bottomed out till today at Cross bar ranch in southern Oklahoma. They let you slid over rocks so easily, a great product for all machines
Definitely saves the taillights, backed into a tree, did its job, but kinked the arm to the bracket, now bed doesn't fully open, gotta straighten it out now.
@@thenotoriousgib365 sure didn't, may switch to the EMP bumper if it don't straighten out enough. The EMP one looks lil more heavy duty, may take a tree lil better, lol
Great video and much appreciated. I'm trying decide on which windshield to go with on my new XTR and this video helped make my decision. Although I am concerned that it is not vented.
Yeti are anti 2A douchebags...they'll never see another cent of my money. Even if your too stupid to value the 2A, Yeti don't make all the coolers here in the US. They just charge USA made prices, while equal, or better, coolers are there for less money. ;)
B8K-F83P0-V0-00 although it looks like they are out of stock again through ShopYamaha.com, definitely a bummer these are worth the extra money. I will be posting the final install of the spare tire soon it came out great with this setup.
Excellent. I have a factory rear window. So securing the tire to the roll bar at the back of the cab isn't an option. I think I'll try an Erickson 09160 wheel tie down kit. It says it's good for a 30" tire but I'll be able to change out the end of the strap if it's not long enough. Nice ingenuity. Starboard is perfect for this.
Nice! I was on the fence about buying this expensive piece of glass, but after seeing the video I see a lot went into making this worth the money Yamaha engineers did well with this fit and finish is impressive!
@@thenotoriousgib365 I'm waiting for 2023 to pull the trigger on the Ltd 4 seater. I'm building out a property in California this summer and prioritizing funds. Please keep sharing. Thanks.
Hey Dwight one of the largest cons is these windshields carry the largest price tag! I used a code at shopyamaha.com and it ended up being $900 with free freight shipping. Though it ate a huge chunk of my upgrade budget it’s been worth it in my opinion.
@@thenotoriousgib365 that's not too bad I've gotta save up. When my Yamaha polycarbonate hardcoat is too scratched that'll be next upgrade but so far it's surprised me with it's scratch resistants . Subscribed by the way keep the good videos up
Thanx for commenting Brian, agreed on the sound! I’m working on sound beyond the 10 questionable choices my editing software has and I picked up a better mic as I had to cut the sound due to solid wind. Things will improve 👍
Nice just did that with the hard inch warn shackles for the front three quarter for the back. It sure makes it look sleeker. Cheers bud and just subbed
Thanx for responding MrT! Nice, I also grabbed similar shackles for front and rear, just the MaxTrax NAPA units but so far they seem good and as others have reported rear ring rides on top! Cheers
Nice video install man! It's going to help out a lot of people I have the feeling. Even though people might not like the wiper being at top and having the drips go down, I feel like this will keep the mud from collecting if the wiper was at the bottom.
Hey BarnStangz thanx for commenting, got some test time in and yeah the wiper does drip down. I didn’t get into mud but I did get some snow sand mix and the dual spray and large blade took it right off. Visibility is amazing, I’m sure that mounting the wiper unit on the bottom would have impacted that and caused issues with access to navigation.
@@thenotoriousgib365 Thanks for the heads up, yeah man, the OEM windshield is the best for sure! I'm going to have to get one at some point, but the OEM poly has been serving me well so far.
good vid, but I have been wrenching for 37 years, how can you wear those gloves?? 8:11 seconds explains what I am talking about. I had a glass Yamaha in my X4 and loved it, got an RMAX now and went plastic, b/c it was just too dam hot in the summer not being able to open it up. Another thing was the Yamaha heater wasn't good enough to defrost the windshield
