We are about Adventure Mountain Biking. Our plan is to travel across the North American continent to experience the many different trail systems and communities. Meet new people and build relationships that we can bring to you through the magic of RU-vid.
You can look forward to general Mountain Bike related expeditions, product testing along with science & Engineering occasionally thrown into the mix. If possible we plan to map all the individual trails in order to create a video library for all to review.
Anything to do with adventure style mountain biking, we try to kick it down the trail at least once.
The double sided tape is holding. We used the zip ties to secure the wires. We also used a conformal coating to waterproof the lights. They are working well.
I think when you said about you wearing a dark colour, you hit the nail on the head. The most successful tracking through trees I’ve seen has been with people wearing brighter colours. I bought mine to follow me mountain biking, these videos help me understand the Neo’s limitations and where it works best.
wasn't expecting to see a Trini review! thanks for sharing, preordered but in the US we don't get the RC-N2 with the combo. Have you tried using it with a controller other than the dji app?
You are welcome. I did a few short tests with the included RC-N3 controller. Worked fine as per my mini. However, my primary objective was testing while tearing through the bush. Could it keep up? And we now know, not so much. If one can consider a tear at 14km/h or less then all is mostly well. lol
We need to buy a pair of SIDI shoes. Everyone I know who has them says they switched shoes because they got tired of the model; they are so good that they last a lifetime. Unfortunately, they are very expensive here in Brazil, but if my Scott breaks again, I will have to go for a pair of those.
I think after 4 pairs that broke in the exact same place they gave up on me. Wouldn't warranty & refunded the purchase price. The cleat plate is a thicker plastic/carbon material but either too thin or not sufficient to withstand the scrambling..
@@AndreLaurentMTB I am from Brazil. I bought the SCOTT MTB Comp BOA model, but it broke on the left side in the same place, haha. Now they are sending me a new pair of SCOTT MTB Team BOA. I don’t know yet if I will use it or sell it. Currently, I am using the Specialized Recon 1.0, which is much better than the Scott. I might end up selling this new pair when it arrives... unfortunately, Scott is not great for cycling shoes.
Rattler feels really short whenever I try it, but I guess it's a fun way to get down the hill before you hit rock, paper, scissors. I'm looking forward to what the Trail Hub come up with in the future. There's definitely lots of flag markers around the lot so it seems like big plans are on the horizon. Also, big props for going up RTS just to do Sliders again so you could get it on camera for us viewers. 👊 That's not the easiest of grunts...for my fitness level, anyway. 😆 How do you like the cut through the tight, right corner on Sliders, that comes just after the little jump? Thanks for continuing to show us around. Love that the family is just as enthusiastic about riding. 🤝👊✌
@@Ryland_28 they have lots of trail work happening. Not seeing progress this summer, yet! Just waiting..... Sliders and Superfly alley are the best trails there in DF, IMHO. We all choose the MTB lifestyles and it's paid off
In the open areas it is fine. Watch the top end speed. It can't follow much past 15-18 km/h, 20 at most. The video capture is very sharp. Hopefully they introduce better a video algorithm & adjustment options in a future F/W release. The mini series can't fly without the controller and they are larger & noisier. So they won't work as well for quick captures... I don't have access to the Hoverair X's so I can't give a comparison opinion except to note that nobody but DC Rainmaker has done a real bush ride test of both. His opinion is a good one.
@@mikelafferty5253 no geofence issues. Works ok. Obstacle avoidance is a real issue. Small leave and branches are killers. It also likes to mistake trees for me. The maximum useable speed in the bush is about 10km/h.. so don't expect anything but short b-roll or carefully setup, short runs through cleared trails...
@@AndreLaurentMTBI came to ask for feedback as well, so I appreciate you sharing your experience. It's going to be tough to develop something that can accurately track and keep up with the pace, while shredding through a Forest. I'm sure it'll be accomplished in time though.
@@Ryland_28 I expected no more than it does right now. I use it for these short captures where safe to do so. Hopefully the AI is developed further to allow for even better performance and video quality. For now, it is good enough .
My wheel holder keep getting sticky. It won't go back in all of the way. I'm on my 3rd wheel holder (about to order a 4th). I've had the rack about 5 years. I've also had problems with the lock cable getting stuck out (it won't go back in it's "home"). The rack is a hunk of junk, but they keep sending me replacement parts so I can't complain too much. I can't see how they turn a profit when I've replaced most of the rack. :P It's nice they warranty things without question, but I'm buying a 1up or Quickrstuff next time.
What I didn't get is the thing with the nails in the tires, why don't you remove them beforehand? At 13:54, the hands of a woman (who I guess is the one helping you) are super cool, totally into it!
They are studded fatbike tires, not nails. The studs are not removeable. The studs are used for winter riding to prevent slipping on icey trail conditions.
I'm going to need a better bike rack provided I'm ever riding again. You didn't hear the story about my bike falling off the rack on the QEW and the only reason I still have it is cuz I added a small piece of 14 gauge electrical wire around one of the tires. The only damage was my handle grips and a little bit of handlebar damage that can't be seen after I installed new handle grips. Maybe it was a warning not to go to Whistler
@@AndreLaurentMTB I'll ride some jank, and I'd probably do the drop but the creek gap? I'm not comfortable soaring through the air and I know it lmao. Know your limit, ride within it.
Check the ghostridermtb.com website for rides and events. Our Don Valley rides tend to be Tuesday and Thursday but this year the weather was uncooperative. So they tend to be random.
Is it open ag the end of Catalyst? I believe at 7:16 of the video. Tried a few times but headed back in the last one as I couldn't get thought the fence
Subway will be above ground there. The last place the Ontario line will be underground is at Beechwood when it comes out to cross the valley near the Sanitation plant.
@@darkman1301 black Scorpion is a no joke trail!! If you can start with Silverback then graduate to Capuchin before trying it. Even a hike of the trail might be a good idea... Stress less, ride more!
love the videos man deff a good fun ride out there stil trying to learn the trail system up here fully iff you ever up and want a new rider if its cool let me know be nice to get out wit some people instead of self getting lost lol
Thanx. We used Trailforks to navigate up there and the signs helped somewhat.. Time on trail and getting lost helps make the adventure more interesting..
@AndreLaurentMTB thats way matters I've tried trail forks still have my issues w it but then find that vetting lost the fun part ...deff should tey to hit up Bellevue valley if you haven't yet deff a good ride down and nice as fast
Damn bro that did not look easy at all lol. It didn't even look hard, it looked very very difficult haha. One Day Ill make it up there man. Just today I was watching the entrance to black Scorpion as i made my way to the top( the ball) Good job on surviving guys. Only one fall is an accomplishment boi Andre
@@adventureswithloviematt Thanx Matt, that's not a trail to underestimate. Takes a lot of skill and grit to be able to ride most of it let alone all of it clean. Check it before you wreck it is critical. Pre ride, re ride (as many times as it takes) before you free ride... Cuts down on the injuries and the suffering.. Helps you develop your skill and understanding of your limits... Stress less, ride more!
Lol. No man! don't say that. Time on Silverback then more Capu to build up and you'll be ready. This is a no joke trail that needs a lot more manicuring before it can really be rideable trail. Most of us walked or bumbled down so many parts and we are not inexperienced by a long shot.
@@adventureswithloviematt remember that a pre ride is just that, lots of walking & no dark hero moves. A dead hero is still dead at the bottom... Enjoy it if you can convince him to go back for more. 😂
I got a pair for building up a 29er hardtail because they were on special offer and in the retailer`s product description also suited for All Mountain use.No grip in colder temperatures doesn`t sound so promising but they should offer more grip than the XC M thread.
I rode mine till they started slipping on the same terrain they held well on when they were new. I also found as they got worn they were experiencing more leaks, started while we were on the rubbly sharp rock terrain in Bentonville. For us cold is below 5 C & by then I am already switching over to studded fat bikes...
