I found my family member's old rusted NEF Pardner SB1. After an hour of sanding and polishing, I brought it back to life. Gorgeous little cheap shottie. A great truck or farm gun. I think they paid $90 for it brand new back in 1995 at Dick's Sporting Goods. lol The actual gun is hardened steel compared to the barrel. The wood is solid and beautiful Walnut. Every home should have one of these just based on price alone. Great beginner shotgun and super easy to maintain. If you see one online or in a pawn shop for under $150, talk them down 20 bucks and buy it!
I have copies of both the AK and AR platforms. I shoot them both and like them. In a hairy situation, I would not feel under-armed with either of them in my hands. Up close, I prefer the AK, hands down. At over 200 meters, the AR is better due to its greater accuracy at a distance. Neither has the punch of the old M-14 or the even older M-1 Garand.
I just bought myself that same gun today. Certainly more of a novelty firearm to own, but its still an amazing weapon. Definitely agree with your assessment that its the Barrett of handguns, which is pretty much why I got it. Almost got the BFR in 45-70 but there's something about having a .50 cal for the ego.
My late uncle gave me his from when he was in the Marine Corps. He was on Guadalcanal with the 1st Marine division and fought throughout the Pacific. He
I wanted to buy a Henry lever action rifle in .327, but they stopped making them. So, I bought a barrel insert for my 12 gauge shotgun that allows me to shoot the .327 round. I don't have a revolver in .327 yet, but I do have one in .32 H&R magnum.
During WW2 my father was sent to the Philippines Islands and served as a Medic, was issued the M-1 Carbine but had no use for that caliber it didn’t take to long before he got the Thompson Sub machine gun. I have a picture of him holding the Thompson in one hand and a spider monkey in the other. My Dad never spoke about his time there. He’s old foxhole use come over when I was a kid. He ended up living till his was 84 years old and when he showed up for my dad’s funeral and had the ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Service at Lake Isabella we stayed in contact till he passed away.
Today buying one. Funny how you mentioned the trigger not being as good as the sport. Thats what i originally was going for but they sold the last one. As far as all you bastards that got this rifle years ago at 499. Im proof that inflation is a thing because these rifles are going for 879 right now.
