Love your channel it has been very helpful to me but I am wondering if I have no female flowers on my squash plant and only two males, I also noticed that I got a lot of leaves I think I over fertilized with too much nitrogen should I go ahead and cut out all of the blooming male plants and just wait for the other flowers to bud and see what happens
I have planted potatoes for the 1st time this year. I planted in 30L tubs. The plant leaves are just starting to turn yellow. I pulled some out only to find a lot of the potatoes were small. Should I leave them a bit longer?
Yes need to stay longer.. if the lower leaves turn yellow , there might be too much water.. prune them off.. Wait till the plant looks like it is dying , brown leaves dry up .. then wait for another week before harvesting...
So glad I found this chance thank you. I am going to plant some kale today. I keep towing with the idea, but I just don’t wanna waste my time. I don’t know why I do this to myself. Just do it lol
I am also in upstate New York near Pulaski and it’s a totally different situation than when I lived about 45 minutes away. Lake effect is a big big deal.
What would be amazing is to see someone actually show progress of watering and care during winter, then reviving with results from spring and summer. So far, everyone is all talk in how to overwinter but none else.
So is it ok to plant seeds in soil outside?? Since I have no grow light, no inside counter space since living in Travel trailer. Just curious. ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸🪴⚘️
Happy Tuesday GreenT!! So read your text. 5 corps to grow in August. I just got the notification of your video. All I got to Say..... Is You Rock, GreenT!! ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸🪴⚘️
Yesterday we planted string beans, swiss chard, beets, added a fourth kale patch and crossed my fingers with suoy long cucumbers. I had cucumber seeds from last year and an empty trellis so why not. Enjoy gardening everyone!
Soooo anyone ever used any herbs to make this spray?? Didn’t know if it would work or not, but since mint grows so invasively and rapid - it may be a good one to use all the excess hahaha
I love you videos always so informative. I have a couple of questions though first if you have some squash plants showing signs of powdery mildew is there a way to save them or do you just have to pull them? Cause early in the year they were fine and gave me good veggies I just don’t know what happened. Also if you have tomato plants showing blossom end rot can you treat it or do I just lose all my plants?
So you could always treat the powdery mildew and prune out some of the lower leaves... All with the tomato plant you have to increase the calcium. It's very important you avoid blossom and rot.. To get rid of powdery mildew ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ia3j2A4z9bQ.html Makes this with water and then add it to your plant .. This works on tomatoes, peppers, squash, pumpkin, watermelon amzn.to/4dcxODB (Amazon #ad
Oh sorry about that lol , get neem oil spray.. spray underneath the leaves in the evening time ... Do it 2 times a week .. Also manually remove any bugs you see... Neem oil amzn.to/4dvj7ew (Amazon #ad
Harvesting depends on the Zucchini variaty. If you have the "Standard " variaties the yes, this size is good. I like a italien variant that needs to get way bigger and has a much more aromatic taste.
I’m so excited to harvest my first season of growing butternut squash. I learned a lot from this video and ty! Homemade butternut bisque is one of my favorites 😋
Fantastic harvest! I envy your talent! I grew some cucumbers and the flavor is…….well, it’s pretty bad. Bitter and inedible. Do you know what could cause that problem?
Sorry to hear that , So normally when the plant is stressed out this could cause the problem or if the cucumber overripe turning yellow it could get better.. If the weather is too hot or the plant is getting attacked by bugs or not, enough nutrition or water could stress the plant out.. Try to increase your fertilizer and keep reapplying every 2 to 3 weeks. Make sure your water whenever you 1 to 2 days. Basically keeping the plant healthy and harvest on time.. And thank you very much.. I appreciate it.. hope you get some tasty cucumber soon 🌱
@@Greentgarden: thank you! I live in hot Arizona, and am trying to figure out this gardening thing in our weather. Thanks for answering me. I appreciate it!
You're welcome and yes where you live is super hot , The hot weather tends to slow down some of the plants Production.. give it time , Just keep up with your watering and fertilizer. The plant will eventually produce and get better
The side shoots are what bear the cucumber. They should not be cut. I have a cucumber plant and it only bears fruit from the shoots that come out of the leaf.
It is strange that it didn't mention that.. For example , Normally to save the Cucumber seed you have to let the Cucumber overripe when it turns fully yellow so the seed could mature.. . Thanks for sharing... happy gardening 🌱
Just sprinkle a light layer and normally every two weeks to 3 weeks you could sprinkle again.. Used coffee grounds. Also keep away a lot of pests from the garden too
Means your plant is still growing and Growing lots of side shoots between.. . Make sure your peppers are full size and you could go ahead and prune your plant and less water will make them Ripen.. But before you do this, feed your plant, make sure it's rich with fertilizer and increase the calcium.. After you do all that, give it some time it will change colors
We're still new to the potato garden. 2 past seasons in buckets disappointing so we put 2 short rows of Kennebec taking up space so less beet root and carrots. Not putting in fall potatoes. Our foliage is still green. Temp went down to 71 after heavy shower this evening. .............. You have a nice harvest GreenT. Blessings to you, your family and your garden.
Thanks good information. Yes we have take it day by day. Rain is good with sunshine. Looking forward yo fall. Also doing some preserving/canning/fermenting. Thanks
Thank you and nice.. canning is a great way to enjoy your harvest later.. we have a couple of days of rain coming and hopefully after that I could start seeds
