That one is over in the Cumberland area. Some people were crazy about Heirloom BBQ when I lived there several years ago. I wasn't crazy about it. I could take it or leave it , depending on the item...

When it first came out and I saw that it was an international event, I was interested. Getting tickets is a non-starter..So 4 years later I was invited as a bday gift in Charlotte . I give it a 3/10 saved from a zero by the entertainment and the people watching. I was deflated by the time I got there after the walking and toting so much crap. If you're a people watcher you will be amused. Nice location but the stage and projection screens were low so I couldn't see anything and the sound in the amphitheater didn't project to the back. All the waiting killed it for me. My feet hurt so I kept my sneakers on with my dress the whole time. Shout out to the tables flanking us.. the laughs were real!! I understand that coordinating around 3000 people is lot ( especially our "folks") but the setting up of tables took hours and I was bored and hungry by the start. We met at 3:30 got in around 4:30 and sat til 7 waiting to start and eat. Too much squeeze not enough juice. Just not for me.
I don't care if you left that brisket in the smoker for 2 days it wouldn't be that dry. They left that on the counter for 2 days for it to get that hard.
One thing that I have learned about barbecue restaurants is to never order it for dinner/late evening. If the place opens at noon, I will be there at 1:30 at the earliest. If it opens at 4:00, I will be there at 5:00, or not at all. I will not be a “first batch of the day” tester, and I will not be the first person in there and possibly get stuck with the last batch from the day before.
