This is mostly a gaming channel. I'm currently playing a new indie game Thronefall. I have a playlist of tutorial videos to help newer players as well as the eternal trials runs.
My body is ready to watch you go through this. I just lost one of my best build runs to a mass elite ogre on the desert level! Never playing the desert level late game ever again I swear.
My PB is getting to stage 24. That was before the ET change however. I think 22 is my current stage record on the newest ET season. Keep trying and climbing and learn from my mistakes.
You can use the number '3" to choose all the archers then use the 'F' keyword to only place one of them "Only if you have different 2 archer units". It works too with barracks of course.
one idea i've wondered about is using the sword on the two prefered maps and prioritizing ability cooldown with the forge, and melee resist and damage with the blacksmith. Would that be too risky, or might that have potential depending on the enemies you fight?
I think most builds are situational. In later stages, the elites are much tougher than regular enemies so improvised builds are going to be less effective than the optimized ones. IF you are facing all melee units then investing in melee armor is huge and I think worth it instead of the ranged attacks I usually get for my tower DPS. Armor upgrades also scale well with healing effects like the potion perk, wizard, and healing towers (but I don't build heal towers nearly as often as I should). Also you should consider that ET are randomized loadouts so it isn't guaranteed that you get a sword on a specific map that has melee only units. I'll keep my eyes open for a future map like that but I'll probably forget and fall back on the general strategy of ranged dps for towers and hero hp on sword.
Thank you for all the Thronefall ET runs you post! I learned quite a bit from them, and today, I finally reached Stage 20 (455k score). I upvoted all the videos I watched, and by now, I believe you deserve a comment from me :) Keep 'em coming - love the content!
@@bigmacfromaos6508 I started out focussing on my king, but over the last two weeks, I have put more emphasis on my units. So far, my runs go farther when I go the unit route. I also learned to ignore all min-maxing regarding the score. In the end, all that counts is survival! Actually, the longer you survive, the higher the score and no min-maxing will make up for not getting to that next Stage.
The switch from stage 22 back to stage 1 felt so flat lmao. This is a cool miniseries and you just beat a personal record my man! Congrats! I've been following these stages for the past few days it's fun to watch. Next time give it some hooray when you smash that it! Peace.
Unfortunately I did not beat my PB for highest stage. Before I started this miniseries I had reached stage 24 before they changed the eternal trials formula. Before there would be some rounds with a small amount of rounds but a huge amount of enemies (easier to cheese with treasure chest) instead of ramping up from 5 rounds to 10 and staying at 10. Also yeah I was upset and just wanted to forget about my mistake on stage 22 so I started the easy levels again. I wasn't thinking about how to make good content in that moment oops.
@@bigmacfromaos6508 Fair enough man I do the same thing haha.. Thanks for the content anyway I'm going to keep watching your stuff I enjoy your commentary.
I think it's the allure of optimizing the elite towers that got you your last loss. Since you try to prepare for those last 3 waves, best to memorize them and determine if you need elite tier 3s early or not.
You keep making the same mistake of getting towers early on instead of getting an army which is a more efficient way of defending your houses and economy early on. Get an army instead of towers until you really need towers get them then.
I completely agree with what you are saying. Here is why I didn't upgrade: Elite tower greed. If I use it then I don't get elite towers for later waves. So I usually upgrade to tier 2 on night 9 and tier 3 on night 10 because if the enemies get stronger every night then surely you need your elites on the last 2 nights right? However, this mindset prevents me from using sense to upgrade during the 3 hardest waves. At the time I forgot if the ogre wave was the hardest wave so I saved it for later waves instead of powering up enough to save my base. In hindsight I should have realized that the ogres was going to be the hardest wave on the map (look back at the video. I could have easily killed night 9 with my trample tactics) so I needed power to live. It is one of those things that you learn from the school of hard knocks. Unfortunately for me I had to learn it first
House perks give you more money than interest though. With resilient residences you get the taxes regardless of the house destruction. So if you had 2 gold in your chest to spend and you spent it on a house on the first night, you get at least 10 gold from that house. However, that interest money gives you 1 gold and that is it. The gold mine was a mistake though. 5 gold would have given me 3 gold in interest or I could have invested in my 2 houses instead.
Free money isn't bad, but everything comes with an opportunity cost. So when you are at the perk selection you want other money making perks instead. Most times you don't really NEED the chest money because it comes the last 3 nights when, ideally, you have enough money to do whatever you need. This time, however, I messed up defending my boats and didn't make as much money as I should have so I really appreciated having the treasure chest.
Thanks. If you want more thronefall ORANGUGREED on youtube also has a channel with thronefall content. Most of it is high score hunting but it is still a good watch.
Very good list. Not 100% sure if I agree with every decision, but I guess that doesn't matter. Like I like ancient shrines a lot, but it's obviously pointless on the first few maps :p
I was tempted to put shrines in niche because they are a niche perk. Only 2 maps take advantage of it, but the strength is so great that it jumped to tier A. Also when you get far in ET you just want to jump between the two maps with the shrines anyway because they are easier to defend. The activation cost of ancient shrines is also less important when you can charge on night one after killing the massive amounts of units they throw at you in later stages of ET.
I've got a pipeline for more eternal trials content. Usually you will see the first 5 maps in the run and then each episode after that you see 2 maps because the later maps take longer to do and I don't want giant 10 hour run videos. I won't re roll the first map for optimal scoring either.
