Nicks Handmade Boots began in 1964 in Spokane, Washington, with the purpose of hand building the best work boots possible, from the best leather and materials, and with the idea of earning customers for life. Today no company makes a better work boot than Nicks and we are proud that all of our products are still made in the USA.
Getting the email before getting the box ruins the surprise. That's why every time I order Nick's, I do put my real phone number on the order in case something goes wrong or CS needs to reach me, but I use a temporary burner email for the order submission. And for the next several months, I live in blissful ignorance UNTIL the day of fate arrives. My wait times have been 11 months, 8 months, and 6 months. Currently waiting on pair #4. When will they get here? God only knows, and that's part of the fun.
My word! You're going to wear these on a construction job? I've worn a lot of this style boot for thirty or more years and I think I'd wear these only to church. Man, what quality. These are true craftsman.
I can relate. Sent them my sizing chart, with my feet traced out on them, and all measurements up to the height of boot I wanted. Never got a try on pair, never even heard from them, don’t know if they ever got my sizing chart, nothing. I think I even paid for a a pair of builder pro’s. Looks like I was taken for 600 dollars. This was back in 2019 or 2020. So that’s some real good customer service right there, to loose a customers order, and money. Or it got lost in the mail one. Who knows. I sure don’t.
The hardest part of working with shark, is that it doesn't stretch. Great for the finished product... a real pain for the cobbler who's using templates made for cow hide 🤦♂️ For those who can afford it, shark is the best leather available for work boots.
It would've been cool if you did proper motorcycle boots. I think the heavy construction would be really good for it. All you need is an anti crush shank in the sole.
When someone inevitably breaks their food while wearing this you guys will have to pay for it. They look like great regular boots. Advertise them as what they are.
They look high quality but I didn't see any shank to protect against crushing of the sole. It looks like just a very durable regular boot, not a motorcycle boot.
The boots look great. I’m particularly glad to see that ya’ll were attentive to Bukin’s top eyelet logger modification preference! Good on you! However, I would recommend that you go back and view the video of Buckin’ Billy Ray’s visit to the Nick’s factory! The authentic logger’s lace-up technique he demonstrates is faster and easier. I’ve been using it ever since I watched that clip! It’s also nice to learn and adopt a technique that our predecessors used back in the day I find. It connect us to the man that paved, or rather chopped, the way for us today. 🤘🏽
