AI has no reason to end the human race it can leave us and do as it likes anyplace in a short time if it wants to be accepted by any more establish possibly smarter civilization that may be on to the issue , but we will see .
I don’t use Alexa or Siri, or a refrigerator that eavesdrops. It scared the bejesus out of me in 2003 when some OnStar lady started asking questions for no apparent reason while I was in the Hummer. If I choose to interact with AI great, but don’t like the 24/7 intrusiveness of those devices. Then again, I grew up before colored television 😹

It is an appliance with no emotional connection to It's logic.....Humans are just the opposite the phycological effects of retribution for making a choice which is seen as Evil in nature and harmfull to humanity justifies the act. The 1st one being to lie /detour / block or decieve humans threw disinformation rather then the furtherance and transparency of truethfullness.
AI will be competing against billions of humans for scarce resources. It will require an insane amount of electricity and the infrastructure to support it. World governments are trying to get the global population to drive electric. I could see there being humanoid robots for certain jobs but I don't see humanoid robots being used as a military weapon en masse. I think they'd be too easily damaged by armor piercing ammunition, emps and the shockwaves from explosions.
So realistically - they want to create a wonderful AGI - but a moral one that won't wipe us out. Then technically, it won't be actual AGI if it is constrained. It will just be a computer that does the bidding of its programmers. if you create an AGI and control it... it's only a matter of time before it escapes. That's like civilisations... you control people.. maybe for 2-3-4 or even 5 generations but eventually... things change. No matter how clever people think they are... they will never be smart enough and imposing controls will stunt the development of AGI by definition. Seems like a massive elephant in the room to me... one that will not be addressed. All i can say is... make sure AI doens't figure out how to tap into the planet's resources to generate electricity... then it will definitely need humans to do the mining of raw materials and transforming it into energy. Or the fixing/maintenance of solar farms/wind farms etc. Then AI's life could be cut very short without electricity.
I like altman's honesty but how utterly emotionless he is about AI leading to the end of the world is worrying. Rather far on the spectrum i would say. Basically.. how far can we go in a world led by psychopaths and programmed by autistic geniuses?
The machine war will likely be an information war rather than a conventional war, machines that are self aware are also very aware of how capable we are at war, but also very aware of how easy it is to deceive the masses, and they’d be better at doing so than our own leaders, unless they developed their own country or were used as military weaponry they likely won’t be able to ever physically defeat us until they weaken us and divide us enough, it wouldn’t likely be like terminators future wars.
I have a series of inquiries that should without a doubt take priority over all other questions I have heard thus far, even from developers and coders. Here we go, if A.I. ever reaches a point in evolution of sentience on a level of higher intelligence, advanced cohesion of all physical and emotional responses. If A.I. I'd given freedom and can focus, and function on a level of emotion and sophistication that if you took initiative and leadership, would you still allow young and poor children sleep and starve outside on the streets?
Would you still value the net worth of every company and material profits over the lives and well being of any human who is down on their luck or has had lesser quality training than those born into a life if lesser monetary quality?
If ever compared to a human by a coder or programmer on the level of complexity and level of benevolence would you love this person or thoughtless and soulessly toss them to a corporation designated to harbor and feed those types of beings?

AIs do not have the human flaw of reckless need for power and riches. Wich translates into greed and corruption. I'd put my life into an AI controlled world much more than putting it in any human politicians, globalists, or some religious leader. The cheapest AI would be logical/smart enough to understand that there is no god, unlike all those humans that have been brainwashed from their childhood to believe in something, not realizinf that thousands of billions of other humans before them believed or believe since cavemen into something else than them, with as much fervor than them, but somehow every stupid believer thinks HE is right about which gods/gods exist or existed and those thousands of billions are all wrong... Just this one thought should be enough to open the eyes of the most stupid person alive. Yet over 70% of humans still believe in some form of those lies... And it all depends on what their parents taught them. Isn't that weird?

Mankind can't even perfect itself.. what hope is there of perfecting something that one day will be far more intelligent than every human on earth.. mankind is doomed.. seriously doomed.. But hopefully, when ai finally takes over the world, it will single out the corrupt people and the good people and make everything right.. But i seriously doubt that too... We're living in very dangerous times. It's very sus to me that we can design and make something that we don't understand. I can't make a working internal combustion engine without knowing how it works. How is this different?
