Great video bro, it's definitely time to move on from Capela, Trae would benefit heavily from having more versatile bigs next to him, really hoping for Kessler.
So silly how yall were actually so mad they didn't draft Sarr acting like he's a guaranteed super star for some reason. Yall didn't even know who he was until the hawks got the #1 pick and yall started seeing his name on social media then just ran with it. Zacc played better and has better more efficient stats while playing in a tougher league and on a deeper team than Sarr. I really don't get it why everybody acting like Sarr is Wemby all of a sudden. Bro averaged 9 points off the bench in Australia lol
Not sure who you’re referring to because I’ve been evaluating this draft class since the 2023 draft ended. It’s evident to me that you haven’t watched him play or understand the context of his role by pointing to his PPG, especially since Risacher averaged virtually the same PPG in more minutes. Neither of them were dominant in their respective leagues, and both of them have glaring offensive flaws. One of them happens to be 7’1 with potentially transcendent defensive potential and had the highest BLK% and 6th highest D-BPM as a teenager playing against grown men. You’re disparaging Sarr and completely ignoring context. Nobody said he was a guaranteed super star, but he is a much more realized role on this team that is else reliant on his offense translating because he is that level defender.
@@dlee4three11 I never said you said he was a guaranteed superstar I said you were acting like it. Which you are. Getting mad and overeating to us not picking him first when he literally didn't even want to come here anyways. He's more of a project than Zacc is at this point. The only thing he has better is height and defensive POTENTIAL? He also played in a worse league against lesser talent. Context you're ignoring. "he is a much more realized role on this team that is else reliant on his offense translating because he is that level defender." What are you even trying to say here lmao
Not sure which ones you’re referring to but I pull the play type/shooting %’s from Synergy. Net rating data from pbpstats, and the blk % from dunksandthrees
In a perfect world, Dyson should start alongside Trae regardless of how his shot is currently. His defensive abilities and prowess as well as his passing is too good to pass up. Round the lineup off with Zacch, Jalen, and Clint/Onyeka/Walker (perfect world), I think we'd have a great starting 5
He will probably start depending on matchups I’d imagine. Teams will load up on Trae with Bogi not on the floor if Jalen doesn’t take a leap as a creator
@@dlee4three11 Maybe. I think with all the fire power teams got at the wing, Dyson is someone that has to see play ASAP. Would also help to build his confidence as a shooter and overall player. Excited regardless, hope we can somehow get Walker Kessler in the mix as well
Thank you for some positive energy. I’ve loved the offseason so far but get so much hate from the fan base for it. I think most people just don’t know ball. Dyson instead of DJ is already an improvement. Those 2 picks have the potential eland a star as I could see collapse of those teams. ZR pairs perfectly with Trae and we’ve struggled with injuries so having guys like Kobe, mo, and Lundy brings help. We also found contributors in Gary and Vit during those stretches of injury. I have a very positive outlook. If we can add a true big to pair with OO we are set.
@@dlee4three11 ha, I’ve forgotten my context lol Ok change subject. Hawks have 5 Bigs, right. It would be funny if one of the bigs in summer league really impresses Quinn. Personally, I’m a big fan of Bruno starting from when I read his life story before coming to the US. He’s a real survivor..kind of person you want your grandkids to sit in a circle around in elementary school gym class and listen to…But I don’t know his English fluency lol
Someday we’ll hear what was going through their heads, Trae and Murray, during those 2 years, and we will have to find the bad guy, the guy to blame. And this desire to blame someone is like seeking sex…relentless and never slacks off until the next morning.
There’s always an audience for people who can spot trends, to anticipate to. Offer. Advice. I share your concerns. I don’t nearly have your expertise. I have to be patient and wait for your first take after summer league
It's actually crazy that Kessler's block percentage is 9.2%. This is what I get for not watching the Jazz. Pausing the vid, it's funny to see that Mo Bamba is as far away from Kessler as Kessler is from.... that thing on the Spurs.
I’ve never understood the love for Sarr. I see Norlens Noel. When it comes to Risacher, he did what the team asked. He averaged the 2nd most points on a playoff team. The shot creation is his real only knock but he wasn’t asked to do that. Also on a team with Trae young you can add 5 points to his average. Trae will find him in his spots more often. Great pick!
As a Sarr advocate he’s a lot more versatile on both ends than Nerlens Noel but he certainly isn’t without his questions (physicality, offensive viability, etc.). Trae will simplify Zach’s game for sure, it remains to be seen how much of his creation is unlockable but I agree that this pick could (and probably will) age better than most expect
@@marqicewalker1766 lol bro dude is only 19. he shot over 40% for almost 40 games in the french league. I think over time he nets as an above average to borderline elite 3 point shooter.
Haha you guys did a great job of selling high on DJ and we fell for the bait smh. I’m ecstatic we recouped some draft capital but as long as Trae stays in Atlanta just gonna have to eat those first being gone. Thank you for watching and I appreciate you subbing!
It's called rationalizing, zacc could be a bust, he played in a weak league, we'll see where he's at Friday, putting lipstick on the pig means nothing 😂😂😂😂😂😂 LANDRY doesn't know wtf he's doing 😂😂😂😂
@@Enzo-xi2cm he was on the 2nd best team in the league, he played against men, he dominated every prospect in the draft, 😂😂😂 wtf has Zacc done, played against division 2 baller's, Sarr has a brother in the NBA, there has never been a NBA player drafted from the beltic elite league 😂😂😂😂😂
@@dlee4three11 LANDRY had 1 decision, get the best player or a reach, he reached, I hope the kid has a great career, but it smells like Marvin Williams
The problem with Risacher as a connective 3 & D wing is that he's not a good passer. In general he isn't good when he gets run off the line. He's a good play finisher as a catch-and-shoot player, but that by itself isn't the same as those really good off-ball players, who have enough playmaking to capitalize on openings even if they don't create much by themselves. For a guy without any elite skills, he doesn't seem nearly as versatile as you'd want.
I didn’t detail his passing ability in this video, but in my prospect evaluation I touched on his connective ability. He flashed some high-level reads off the dribble this season, although I’ll acknowledge the AST/TO ratio is pretty bad. The majority of his egregious TOs came early in the season as he adjust ed to a higher level of play though. Also being a connector doesn’t always mean being a tertiary playmaker, he can keep the offense flowing by taking the shots created for him, making the next pass when the defense is rotation, and introducing perceptual motion with his off-ball ability. He’s gotta grow attacking close outs and putting the ball on the floor in general, but I’m optimistic he can make the right reads when necessary within the flow of the offense.
After a few weeks I’m okay with picking Risacher at #1. Sarr was not a clear cut best selection given his 29% from 3 last season. I believe Risacher can contribute more right away on both sides of the court
This is more ball knowledge in one video than 99.99% of NBA fans and analysts. Reasoned, detailed and nuanced takes on each player and its made me cautiously optimistic about the new direction the Hawks are taking.
@@dlee4three11 I feel like sarr is a bad player. He can’t rebound at 7’1. He’s like jjj without a jumper ngl. Risacher could be a poor man’s Tatum. Trading djm was a horrible move though. I would’ve rather traded trae for like herb or Trey murphy and like 2 picks.
