Man when I got to play online events my setup was absolute crap. However I always made sure to ask if people could see and made sure it was always ok to request a better view of particular cards or whatever. Hell one of the last online games I ever played I accidentally ended up putting an extra security and didn't notice until several turns in, once I did I brought it up (dude was streaming the match and it was a casual game), immediately put the extra card to the bottom of my deck without looking, and proceeded to lose anyway (the extra security wouldn't have helped even if it was legally there). So seeing cheaters make excuses as to why they can't alter the angle always pisses me off.
If you're playing for cards worth several thousands of dollars, it is that serious. These people are playing at regionals and TCs, of course they'll have a reason to cheat. At locals though is just being a plain bad person tbh
@@judgeoh It can be enforced. You can just tell your opponent to set up according to the rules or you'll call a judge. People just usually don't do it in locals or so since it's usually not that serious
The john guy has won several online regionals and treasure cups ive been in. One tournament he had wat looked like his whole family in the tournament. There was 4 other ppl with the same last name and they were all at the top tables. Never played him but was always super sketchy to see him always winning 4 tournaments in a row with over 500 players in each one.
John and his cheater buddies were all YGO players too. The stereotype is real. Something about that game just invites too many demons into their brains.
is this game worth getting into competivly? I’ve only played yugioh upto synchros and am a huge one piece fan. The game looks super fun to me but idk if it’s worth getting into
awesome, how would you recommend i get into the game. I bought a op03 box looking for ace cards (hes my fav character) and im debating buying the yamato deck. idk the meta or whats good/bad @@EggoEspada
It’s about money bro. They are a business too most. Those cheating meta trash spend ridiculous amounts of money on the game. They don’t want to discourage them from cheating and leaving this tcg for the competition that also allows them to cheat.
If I'm not mistaken, Hindu Shuffling isn't considered a valid form of randomization in MANY card games due to how EASY it is to stack your deck with it. ESPECIALLY, in an online event where, unless your opp has you cut into multiple piles, its easy to control where you cut the deck and make it look legit on camera. So OP was definitely justified on asking for a more thorough randomization method. Although, I would have requested a riffle shuffle or the way you were shuffling. A two pile power shuffle is still relatively easy to manipulate as the cards would only shift over 1 or 2 slots.
Nah you were 100% in the wrong here, thats gonna take up so much time and a hindu shuffle (the shuffle he was doing) Is a legitimate shuffle and way to mix up cards
100% disagree. Proper randomization can't occur based off that. A stacked deck cut 10 times is still a stacked deck. The dude wasted so much time objecting the deck would've already have been shuffled and ready. The judge even acknowledges the deck method is not sufficient. At best he's lazy, at worst he's a cheater. Based on the fact he brought up when his opponent showed up, I think he was trying to get any edge over his opponent he could and I'd put him more in the *potential* cheating camp.
He was definitely a crybaby, and he was NOT shuffling so I 100% agree with you calling the judge over, and then obviously the judge agreed with you. Buttttt idk if that qualifies him as a cheater, he’s just immature and a baby. Hence the blankie lol
I know it may stunt my growth in this game but this is why I stay away from online tourneys. I’ll save money, plan ahead as much as I can for a trip, and in person playtest as much as I can for in person big tourneys than go through this bullshit.
BP croc absolutely trying to waste time - got there late, asked for a pile shuffle, pretty much the only way they’re beating Newgate is surviving on one life for a slow play
@@mynameisjapes I agree with the judge. He’s perfectly well within his right to ask his opponent to shuffle that way. He wasted more time arguing than it would have taken to just shuffle the deck. The judge made a judgement. Period.
IMO, asking for him to power shuffle is okay, but ending with a power shuffle of two piles is not random. Also a little harsh calling him a cheater just bc you disagreed on shuffling. If you felt his shuffle was insufficient, you should have explained that from the start.
