That is so awesome! Sometimes I am jealous that I can't find stuff like that in the USA. But then I think about it 4 a second, and realize the destruction that happened in ww2. THEN say to myself it's far better to have 0 here.
It looked like the hatches were closed, or the film quality wasn't clear. I wonder if there were any remains inside. The camera caught a hole, probably a penetrating round that took out the crew.
They almost won that war vs Russia. Had hitler not diverted army group to the south and stayed on Moscow they likely would have won, Britain would have been taken, and America sued for peace. Unless it happened in 1944 close to the Manhattan projects completion. Then Germany would have sued for peace
Arizona had the biggest Scrap yard after the 2nd world war But Walnut Ridge Army Airfield was the bigger in Diameter an we have a Museum there now in Front of the terminal, Called Wimgs of Honor WW2 Museum!
It has a sad story. Everything was sold by the finders on black market. The only thing that remained was the hull. It was still good because it was in almost perfect condition with it's original painting, markings and everything BUT it was put outside... years of rain rusted it greatly and in 2012 they completely destroyed it by painting it over..russian style. So to summarize: They found an incredible treasure but they 100% destroyed it instead of putting it into a museum.
