Question: I notice on your dash that green fuel economy line move from left to right. So the more you press the gas it’ll move to the right and probably give high number read out like 89 fuel economy. Is there a difference in the Jeeps sold in America than the ones sold here in Canada? Coz mine goes from right to left. I have the Jeep Willys.
I too hate that awful start/stop. I just picked up a new 2023 Wrangler Willys on Friday and installed a Auto/Stop Eliminator out of W. Virginia for $100 on Saturday. The longest part of the install was tying the Eliminator out of the way under the dash with zip ties.
I've never looked at one, but they are pretty much the same. If it has the same 2 hood switches, then it probably will I just don't know if the wire colors are the same so you might have to try one , then the other if it doesn't. Please comment if it does 🍻
There are only 2 issues. I would definitely not use the supplied bushings for the lower arms. And I wouldn't use the frount sway bar links. They were a little too long, and I broke the sway bar in half on a trail I shouldn't have needed to disconnect the links on. Kit diffently isn't worth the full retail price, but if you can get on at a discount like I got, then it's worth it. I ended up putting quick disconnect adjustable links for my sway bar and replaced the lower arm bushings after 15k miles
It gets in the way and is kinda useless for me. With stop and go traffic, when it shuts off you can't just hammer on the gas so it gets in the way when your jumping into traffic from a stop or trying to cross a divided 4 lane that doesn't have a light. When I was able to test it for gas saving outside of the city area it got me a whooping 1.5 mpg gain so that's useless also. Just doesn't make sense for a vehicle like this.
I don’t like it. Jeep says it uses the auxiliary battery and not the main battery but what about the starter motor? While running errands around town for a couple of hours the Jeep will start/stop 10 or more times because of traffic lights. That can’t be good for the starter.
Nice setup. I would suggest having your TQ more accessible. A severed femoral artery will drain your pipes long before you can dig that one out and apply it. I keep a CAT T in my pants cargo pocket at all times and there's another one on the outside of my IFAK that's on the outside of my backpack.
I have I say it’s petty cool watching you get thru all these trails on that bike. Actually quite fascinating and I love seeing the people look at you like “wtf” is this guy doing. It’s great!
We just went there on 6.12.22! It was fun! I went to this on my 4 wheeler though didn’t take my dirt bike. We started in Caryville from Red Ash rd. Went all the way to Hembrees grocery and got one of those famous bologna sandwiches.
I haven't gone in that way yet, I normally start in Wartburg and take goby road thru new river to Hembrees or new river trails from the coal plant off 116 then go into RB from Norma.
@@adventure1887 I have some friends that have been wanting to go from RB to wartburg. Well Nemo tunnel but that’s not going to be an option for us now.
I had never done any dirt stuff and was checking out Advertue bikes so when my cruiser got totaled I ended up going the ADV route but now I'm kinda hooked on the Enduro stuff 😅.
Just buy a real Jeep with a manual transmission. It never stops, and you have an extra security device. Leave the top down and windows open, and nobody will even think of looking at stealing it.
The manual trannies also utilize a start/stop. If you leave it idling in neutral, the Jeep will cut out. Just buy an Auto/Start Eliminator for $100. It took me less than 30 minutes to install it under the dash and I'm not big-time wrench. As far as I'm concerned, it was the best $100 that I ever spent.
Just buy a tazer. $199 and it does everything changes your tire size if you go to a different tire through transmission shift the same does all kinds of features it's worth it you don't want something on your dash a light all the time of doing this this is old school
They are worth the money if you plan on trying multiple tire sizes and multiple gearing. it only cost me 75$ for a vin license at the shop I use, to reprogram the tire size and shift points.(compaired to 235$ dealer price) I don't care about having the little warning light on or the tpms light on while I'm off road, nor do I care about the gimmick of the "light show" lol .
Tail light guards, frount bumper w/winch and I've got a RC rear tire carrier vid to finish. Fortunately unfortunately 🙃 I've been working more than normal so i haven't had to much time, but got some video in the works off roading after.
The only thing wrong with that is the orange light stays on. I don't like any kind of orange or red on my dash. I sometimes forget to hit the button but over time it will be a force of habit.
Honestly asking. Why complain about features you selected yourself? Like heated seats, heated steering wheels, Dual climate control etc. These are all things you selected no?
I was going for the satire angle playing off of the purist point of view. Lol It was hard to find an earlier jk with power windows and door locks and now it's hard to find one that's all manual. Some think the more jeep tries to add luxury items as standard equipment, the less they focus on the off road capability, which isn't true. It was 15 degrees out yesterday so ya I love the heated seats and auto start.

Was it mostly gravel roads? Easy to do in a jeep it seems? I’m wanting to go out there but also find some mud. What path did you take? Seems there’s a couple ways to go. Thanks!!
Should be easy to clean though since it’s shorter smaller. My renegade is quick to rinse off. I love shorter cars. Had ram trucks before and they took forever to wash and clean.
Q., I owned a 2 door JK and the chassis / all underpart had a lot of rust in a year time..., I see a lot of starting rust on your JL seems a extra undercoat is a good idea...
Yes there's a lot of rocks in the areas I off road so I tend to use a rust converter first then touch up with a paint. I'm inland in the southeast so we don't see much salt in the air or on the roads so I probably won't spend they money for a full under coat. I did however do a previous jk I owned while living in PA and it saved it alot.
Fluid Film every fall and no rust. Its messy and stinks at first but it does what its supposed to do, prevent rust. Spray the whole undercarriage and you're good to go...
