I love this airplane, the first time that I saw it, it was in a photo on the internet, I thought it was a toy hahaha because in the photo Cri Cri was "next to" the an Airbus A380 (or should I say it was under the A380), and I saw videos of the Cri Cri and people can do aerobatics with it, also I think Cri Cri has the perfect size for making experiments and modifications even test new technologies like new types of electric engines, the most wonderful that I saw with this airplane was one day I saw a video on RU-vid, someone took-off Cri Cri from a SUV hahaha it was so epic and the pilot started doing aerobatics, it would have been epic if the pilot landed in the same SUV, anyway I hope some day buy me a airplane like this, it looks really funny.
I personally think it is a safe and sporty aircraft to operate due to the multi-engine function. However? I would like an electric starter to be implemented to this aircraft without a weight ratio factor. Overall? This is an excellent item.
I would feel safer flying it if it used 4 stroke engines made by Honda or Subaru. Those engines are practically bulletproof but it would increase the weight & cost of the aircraft. Interesting design though. I like how its small enough that you can store in a two car garage if you don't have a hangar or don't wanna pay airport storage fees.
We can see in this video, the Cri-Cri is capable to fly and landing with one engine only, and that's very nice. Question is, what happens if both engines suddently stopped !. Can this plane landing just by gliding or it falls down to the ground like a rock ?. I´d appreciate your reply. Thanks.
Obviously it will glide provided the pilot will nose down a little to get the glide angle. The fact that the elevator is not in the propeller slipstream it means that the sensitivity of the elevator will not be much effected and the ailerons will remain the same while one would expect to lose a little rudder sensitivity. I would guess that that sort of plane would have a glide ratio of 20 :1 so if the pilot is sharp, he will be safe enough to glide down. I noticed that the dead engine did try to rotate due to the fixed pitch propeller acting as a turbine. That put a little more unwanted drag with both engines off, but a good pilot would be safe enough if ground is available.
You wont get you pilots licence any earlier then anyone else, and stay away from aircraft like this ESPECIALLY if you are a beginner. This thing is experimental its just to see what can be done and is quite dangerous. Start out in something like a Tecnam or a Cessna.
I'm 14 and in the UK. We have Air Cadets who get taught how to fly planes and we can get our flight licenses early. I would like to purchase one pre-assembled with some help on how to fly it, and also, what to say on the radio. I am located in Essex, London
Hi Folks ! Congratulation. This is a real jewel and the smallest twin-engined manned aircraft in the world, designed in the early 1970s by French aeronautical engineer MICHEL COLOMBAN.
If they could produce a kit that could be built fast ie something like an almost ready to fly model plane but in this size of airctaft, produce it at a competeing cost then they would have a total winner on there hands. I mean you wouldnt even need to pay hanger fees because this could fit in a long wheelbase van and you could take it home ect then when you want to fly just throw it in the van, drive to the local field, pull ir out the van and put the wings on, so simple
thanks for your answer, i search for that movie and its soundtracks in Amazon.com but i didn't found it. May be the same artist. I don't know... buaaaaa... Anywere A lot of thanks!!!
it looks a lot like a big scale RC plane.... wanna bet that i as an rc plane flyer can fly this thing with no instructions ? i would stick big servo's in it and loose the avionics >> would make a heck of an RC plane :)
