how does the bike turns in tight switchbacks?
@ebike24
@ebike24 4 дня назад
Good question. Well, the narrower the angle the head tube forms with the terrain, the more stable the e-bike will feel, especially in descents and when cornering. On the minus side, it can feel soft and floppy when turning, and harder to keep straight on steep climbs. This ebike has a rather narrow angle. Thanks, Luca

Dear Michael! Very much enjoy your tutorial, installation and upgrade videos. I would like to ask for your recommendation on Bosch ConnectModule. I have just purchased a Gazelle Ultimate C8+ with Belt drive and Active Line Plus smart system, Purion 200 controller and 500W PowerTube. Apparently, according to the Flow app I should be able to subscribe to Flow+ and get the alarm/GPS tracking of my bike but need to install the Bosch ConnectModule with this engine but no one can tell me what part number to order for the right fit and connection under the motor cover that works with the Active Line Plus (2024). Do you know by any chance the specific part number that will be suitable for me? Thank you in advance for your support, Kind regards Peter

I note that you commented that Auto Shift can be used with the Di2 shift gear upgrade option. This is not exactly correct as I have just found out from Orbea in Spain. For Auto Shift, the bike must be fitted with the full Shimano Linkglide groupset components, which requires the 11S cassette, the correct chainring, chain and e-tube cables. Orbea only supply the Rise out of the factory with the 12S cassette, the Di2 shifter and rear derailleur, which will allow Free Shift, but not Auto Shift. Having also discussed this with the distributor in Australia (Bike Box), the only way to get full Auto Shift is to order the Rise from Orbea in standard gearing spec, via your local retail bike shop, then get the bike shop to do a full drivetrain upgrade to LinkGlide (11S), including the EP801-RS software configuration. I don't have an upgrade price on that yet - still waiting for the bike shop to get back to me, but will post when I get it.

@ebike24

Hello and thank you for your comment. Yes, from the software side the module does fit your Gazelle bike because it has the Bosch Smart System. Unfortunately, a recurring problem is the space on the motor. Here we cannot make a general statement as to whether it fits. You could check this with your trusted dealer or directly with Gazelle. Gazelle may also have developed special motor covers to ensure that the ConnectModule fits. Hope this helps! Cheers - Michael

@ebike24
@ebike24 Месяц назад
Hello and thank you for your comment. It really depends on where you want to mount the display. If you want to mount it above the handlebar using the single-arm bracket as shown in the video, I would recommend positioning the cable outlet towards the back/downwards. However, if you prefer to mount the display lower down, above the stem, having the cable exit towards the front/in the direction of travel would be the better option. Both options are perfectly feasible. It simply comes down to your preference and ensures neat cable routing on the handlebars. Cheers - Michael

Hi and thanks for your comment. If you already have a control unit installed, such as the Purion 200 or System Controller, and want to add the Kiox display, then the ID conflict should not occur. Hi Michael. I have a brand new Trek 9.8 Rail XT Gen 4 with system controller and mini remote. Would like to add a Kiox 300 over the stem if possible. Do you know if this configuration would work? I seem to have 1 cable routing hole available on the right side of the frame, so ideally a single cable solution to mounting the Kiox on top of the stem (like they show in the Bosch video) would be nice. Hi Matt, thank you very much for your comment. Yes, this combination is possible with your Trek bike. You can find the Kiox 300 retrofit kit here: www.ebike24.com/bosch-kiox-300-e-bike-display-for-smart-system?number=7600-005 For the correct cable outlet, you will need to check which option suits your bike better. @ebike24

Hi, the batteries have different manufacturer part numbers depending on the battery size and horizontal/vertical orientation. The pivot/axial mounting type is not indicated with the battery because this depends more on the bike and the specific part you need for the battery. You need to pay attention to the mounting type your bike has when buying replacement parts. I hope this helps! Cheers - Michael

@ebike24
@ebike24 Месяц назад
Hi, thank you for your comment. If the bike in the video is the same as yours, then this is not possible. Since it is an electric bike, you have to pedal in order to activate the motor support. This is defined by law here in Europe. If you are in the US, then this bike is most likely a 'Class 1' bike (e-bikes that are pedal-assist only, with no throttle, and have a maximum assisted speed of 20 mph). If you would like to use an electric bike with a throttle, you would need a 'Class 2' bike. More info here: www.juicedbikes.com/pages/e-bike-classifications. Hope this helps! @ebike24
@ebike24 2 месяца назад
Hi, thank you for your comment. You do not necessarily have to remove the phone case. Most cases should fit on the SmartphoneGrip if they are not too thick. I would recommend using the SmartphoneGrip only if you are riding on mostly even terrain. It is not made for use on downhill trails, etc. Bosch states that occasional drops of up to 15 cm are permissible. Unfortunately, you cannot turn off the charging function. If you do not need the charging function of the SmartphoneGrip, I recommend getting a normal mobile phone holder (e.g. www.ebike24.com/e-bike-smartphone-mount?p=1&o=2&n=24&f=96). In the end, the SmartphoneGrip is just a convenient solution for holding and charging your mobile phone on the handlebar while riding. The FlowApp works via Bluetooth, so you can also use other holders. Cheers - Michael
