In other words how would you advise a waning power that is going to be overtaken and by trying to thwart the rising power they will only be thrown and tossed aside and ravaged by so doing, is there a potential better alternative to utter defeat with the potential byproduct of the death of the plenet through neglect or destruction by anhialation during the conflict ?
The question most wish you’d ask John is to say “Ok, we get it, everyone tries to become a hegemon - and if they are smart they do balancing, but how about this - what advice if you were disinterested and living outside looking in, would you give to a nation that just is not going to succeed, against a rising power, they are going to lose, the population and economics mean they will fail if they attempt to push down a rising power and furthermore, tehy will in the process of trying to subvert the rising power they will subvert themselves, potentially far worse and put themselves in even worse situation, would the alternative advice be if you know you will lose to take advantage of the current economics that favor you as much as possible, and using the few historic examples of behavior such as Great Britain allowing the rising power to rise not only peacefully but form a relationship with them to allow them to rise peacefully and due to the realities of nuclear weapons as during Cold War - develop a modus vivendi where both can get the best outcomes together - be a co ruler for as long as you can and as you say as the situation may change again one day that will benefit them as well as you as fortuens change down the road (demographics which might one day reverse the decline as long as you have not destroyed yourself with an alternative road that leads to a very outcome as we all fear the current path will…. I do love John deeply he is so human a good human being - just hope he could evaluate his advice as potentially losing advccie that makes the inevitable even worse if it can be argued you cant forestall the inevitable rise of china or make the assumption you cant and your action now will actually create the monster you fear and make your downfall so much quicker and horrific - when an alternative road as seen from counterexamples in the past can be reasoned now due to the interconnected fates we all share right now with climate change and nuclear annhihialation which at one time shaped a less destructive modus vivendi between the Soviet Union and the West.

I became aware of this book "The Color of Law" about 5 years ago. Mr. Rothstein was surprised at the systematic nature of racism but we Blacks have always been aware of this system in spite of being told that america is not a racist country. Now that yt's have realized that they are canon fodder they want allies. Thank you Mr. Rothstein for enlightening the masses of yt's.
I knew discrimination existed in the US but this is horrifying. You could say it is legalized racism. All these years, I have never heard or read about this. Is it a secret ? Follow the money (cui bono)., The US wanted to sell overpriced LNG to the EU, to make it energy-dependent (and dependent for other products as well which the EU could no longer afford to produce...) on the US. Most of us familiar with US/CIA/Wall Street/MIC policy understand how the real world works, sadly. The EU will take a long time to recover economically.
