The version i had on tape was the Rocky III version, recorded off of Dr. Demento. (But I think this is a different recording despite also being Rocky III)
Yeah, I had the same-but-different version, also recorded off Dr. Demento. Even decades after hearing it there, I could quickly tell this wasn't the version I remembered so fondly.
My father came up with an alternative verse many years ago. "Ye say ye want ta play a game, well this one's Drop the Soap, we all are go and in your cave so best abandon hope. Yo ho yo ho a pervert's life fer me. And when we've finished with that game, we all will laugh and chortle. Then the cook will make a stew from your ruined porthole. Yo ho yo ho a pervert's life for me."
Ok folks... why did this posted video cut out when Mel tells them to "wip out those little dicks" Mel is our last savoir from the woke. LEAVE his shit alone!!!!
OK, this actually answered a big question I always had. Cause the version most people know from the album, came out in 1984. My point is the "they'll be making these movies til the end of time" line always kinda used to mystify me. Well, sure, nowadays it does seem they'll be doing Star Wars movies forever, but back in 1984 the trilogy was over and it would take a long ass time for there to be more Star Wars, and even then, not until 2015 did Luke actually return. But now I realize he wrote it this way, way back in 1980 when Empire Strikes Back was the new movie.
