The grainy black and white photos in Helter Skelter made them look old, but now we have more, and clearer footage, you see how young they all were. Just young regular people building careers and having fun. Jay looks about 12. Voytek in the book looks like a middle aged man, he was only 32 and other photos show it. When they're all out in the garden in their swimwear fussing over Sharon's baby bump. It's so sad, it gets sadder every year, a crime that came right out of the blue in that beautiful setting where Sharon flew kites and played with her dogs. The whole world shifted that day.
I heard that Sharon and Jay were working on the divorce papers from Roman and were planning their own marriage. Maybe that's why he looked so happy on those last photos with Sharon, which were possibly taken on their last afternoon together, before they were murdered. The film was found undevelopped in the camera after the murders.
They say she was quite a groover / shaker. Very active in society, highly educated. Her last words you can stop stabbing me I'm already dead! sad, may she rest in peace.
SAD, from all acounts she was a great lady, who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, like all the victims of the Tate-LaBianca murders.. She went to Santa Catalina with Sharon Gless, I wonder if they knew each other.
Такие люди как Джей заслуживают восхищения, потому что добиваются всего сами, самостоятельно, упорным трудом и талантом. Молодец Джей. Шерон была бы очень счастлива с ним.
Thank You for putting up this amazing video of Jay !!! What a talented Hairdresser to so many Hollywood Star's and Musician's. The song "Light My Fire" was just perfect to play since Jim Morrison was a client of his at one time. Jay should have been Sharon's wife because Roman tried to led her down a very dark path and Jay wouldn't have even tried. REST IN PEACE JAY 🕊️
When you think about it, we all have gifts and vocations. Here was a hairstylist. Not the kind of job that saves the world from nuclear attack or sets entire nations free of their cruel leaders. As is the case with a great baker or a fine chef, the fruit of Sebring's efforts usually didn't last long before he would have to cut the hair all over again. Yet, he transformed his his humble craft into an art that people took seriously. He brought joy. He made people feel good about facing the world. He took his talent and opportunity, and he elevated it into something inspiring. We can all do the same. We might not become famous or rich doing it (and probably won't), but at least we can try to be as good as Sebring in whatever is our craft.
@@antjestraub-bower7541 Did you even read the whole comment before you replied? My point was, we can all use our talents and be excellent in our fields, even though we might not make a lot of money. We can all be superstars in our own God-given way. That was the point. Sorry you missed it.
@@antjestraub-bower7541 he said it in the last sentence. "We can all do the same. We might not become famous or rich doing it (and probably won't), but at least we can try to be as good as Sebring in whatever is our craft.". And this is a very wise statement.
But it just gives even more meaning to the phrase..."All is Vanity"...you make cutting hair into being as important as being a fine surgeon, etc. His personal looks clearly gave him an edge in his career...look where it led to!
@@curbozerboomer1773 The fact that not everybody HAS the natural ability AND opportunity to be a fine surgeon does not mean that they can''t, and shouldn't, use what abilities and opportunities as well as they can. And a haircut of any kind is a lot cheaper than brain surgery - so it isn't as though brain surgeons aren't paid proportionately more. I was happy to see that you did qualify surgeon with "fine," though. Certainly, an excellent barber IS more important than a high-priced, malpracticing brain surgeon. Regarding his looks, it probably didn't hurt his career... but it may have helped less than you might assume. Regarding where his success got him, there are a lot of people who didn't have any sort of material success and who, as a result, found themselves in a circumstance that resulted in their murder. Your comment just smells of arrogance, bitterness, possibly false piety, and maybe even some baldness.
What a shame that such a wonderful young women had to be there on Cielo dr. along with all the other innocent young people! Rest in Peace nice lady Abigail Folger.
I bet that was such a magical time to be a young adult. I was born in 64 so I was too young to experience the 60's.... I wish I could have been born 20 years earlier. It is so sad to see him knowing what lay ahead.
Same. Born in 64. I have a tiny handful of memories of my mum who was very young when she had me, taking me and my brother to London on the train. She loved the King's Road and especially the Biba store. It was safe enough that she would leave us at this psychedelic cafe sitting at the counter with her friend watching us. There were trippy murals all over the walls and 5yo me would gaze at them in wonder. The Biba store had a staircase with mirrored walls on each side so your reflection went on forever. 60s London was a trip even for small kids!
I heard in a documentary about Jay, that Sharon wanted to divorce Roman and marry Jay. They were already working on the papers. I so wish they could have lived and been happy. He was good to her.
Abigail was so pretty, smart, and had a charming personality !!! She was so out of her league while living and working in Los Angeles. She was going to go back to her mom the following day and hoping to get away from the party scene. I'm not sure how long she was a Social Worker in LA but she had become discouraged with working with so many hopeless drug addicts. I believe dating Frykoswki was the 1st main catalyst in her tragic death with him trying to become a major drug supplier of a new party drug called MDA. The 2nd main catalyst in Abigail's death of course was the Manson Family who were hell bent on murder because a little man told them to follow his orders. The song " Love is Blue" is such a beautiful song and very fittingly for a well loved woman !!!! REST IN PEACE ABIGAIL 🕊️🕊️🕊️
Valerie Perrine was invited to the Tate house on that faithful Night. She was dating Jay Sebring. She had to work that night, she did find someone to cover shift but at the last minute. She got sick and Valerie went to work saving her life. RIP
I've posted this on another Terry Melcher video. He's one of my all time favorite record producers. And I believe my cousin introduced me to Charles Mansion at Barney's Beanery in 1966. He definitely creeped me out even several years before the murders. I don't blame Terry one bit for deciding not to produce Manson's music. RIP Terry. You were a great son and music producer. I wish I would've met you instead. A son any mother would be proud of.
I don't want to be the guy to remind everyone what a scumbag this piece of s*** is but Donald "Shorty" Shea is still dead because of him, while this n this POS is singing and living his life one day at a time. F*** this guy. I'm serious. He should still be rotting in jail. A life for a life.
Can you tell me more about that? Are you friends with Steve? How is he doing now? Can I ask how does he make a living? Is he working a day job or just music? THANKS
She had the life I dream about. She had everything she wanted…I know that money and material items don’t buy happiness but she certainly looked to be very happy in all those photos. She had a lot to live for and she was the only person there that night who didn’t have to work for a living. She had THE life.
@@laurenurban3942 Give the old chestnut about money not buying happiness a rest. Money can buy you anything you want, including happiness. IT'S HOW YOU HANDLE IT THAT MATTERS.
What do you mean "Being at the wrong place at the wrong time"? That's bullshit. Anyone should be able to go where they want to at any time without being murdered. Abigail Folger didn't commit suicide, she was murdered. People quote this psycho babble because they don't know what else to say and the words fit neatly together.
@@laurenurban3942- She didn’t have *everything* she wanted. She didn’t get a 26th birthday and I’ll bet she wanted that. Of course she looked happy in all those photos. People are expected to smile in photos. She was a socialite. She had to look her best. I’m sure that she had happiness in her life but I know her life wasn’t happy all the time. No one’s is. You dream of having a life where you don’t have to work for a living but you can still have and do all kinds of expensive things is very unlikely to come true. Instead of dreaming of something that you almost certainly will never have spend time focusing on more realistic goals. If you haven’t graduated from a 4 year college, consider that. It might not be the right path for you but you’re the one who has to do research and decide. I don’t know you so I can’t give you accurate advice but I can tell you that spending time dreaming about things that you’re very unlikely to do or get wastes time that you could spend figuring out how to improve your situation and working on that.
