Well what can you do, rhetorically speaking. The original lineup already disbanded, long ago, by the mid 1980's. Mike has been keeping the spirit of the Gulls alive this whole time, nearly 5 decades now. Otherwise, if he hadn't, all we could have had left of the Gulls are their old music on cassette/vinyl & blurry videos from the 1980's (& 1990's), & that's about it. But with Mike, we get to see/hear the Flock play live now, recorded on today's smartphones, even with another lineup (with Kevin etc). Better than nothing I think. The originals have only gotten together to do studio work in recent years afaik. Say hello to Frank as well, heh. I assume Paul is ok now after his stroke a few years ago? 08/14/24
@robwebnoid5763 They could still fill a huge arena in the original line up their music is timeless. I only found out about Ascension a couple of years ago. Absolute masterpiece.
The best information on the PG film is anything that MK Davis says about it...There was much more going on with the PG film, than just a quick film of a Bigfoot filming, much more to tell about that story
I thought Breathless was recorded at Desitrex with Stewart Stiles. Also thought it was located near 30th & Division. Looking forward to watching this interview. Love Dan Reed. Thanks Kevin!
Mickey is even better than Steve Perry I've always said that too and as a vocalist I've been very blessed with a good tenor voice and I can reach their both of their levels on whenever I've got my full Rest full practice I've been very blessed to be able to sing on both of their ranges on their songs
Very important for Musi history and all those involved. He’s mentioning when the horns got involved and I just have to say that horns can really introduce movement with a “bang! We’re HERE “.
Why am I just now finding this...I've been a Mayfield 4 fan from their inception. Chatted with them at their early gigs (Outback Jacks) a few different times. They were always very cordial & pleasant to hang out with. Funny story...I first stumbled across them at an early gig at Ichabods North, I was there actually supporting an opening band, Greg, that night and Zia had either lost, forgot or broke his sticks and ask the supporting bands drummer to borrow some...😅 Zia has been my favorite drummer since I first saw them! I'm hoping for a reunion some time in the near future.
Thanks for this post... I'm an old friend of these crazy guys for years... Special love for them all.... They were the BEST band from Montana for sure.... Chris, was good to talk to you recently, glad to see a woman finally pinned you down😂... James still remembering that time you had your jaw wired shut, I still own you a steak dinner... LOL.... Brian & Frank wow how you've changed but looking good ... Art, haven't changed just got better with time...miss you all so much. Idaho is waiting for a revival...Bring the Belvedere & we'll throw another warpaint party just for you!!!...😘🤗
I respect Steve IMMENSELY for getting out before his gifts were taken from him. Mad respect. It would be easy to keep selling out shows and sounding "less than". The fact that he sounded so good deep into his 60's is amazing.
Ken was my drum teacher when he lived in Idaho. Awesome drummer and singer! I hope he still has his dad’s old yellow sparkle Ludwig kit! Great to see he is living his passion! 👍🏻💪🏻
