New subscriber here (and already know to set the playback to half speed), and while I am seeking the quintessential stone cottage, I rather like this property. I absolutely adore the raspberry coloured bathroom suite! One does tire of the current decorating fad of "everything must be shades of grey or black" (you can wrap me in those dismal "colours" when I'm in my final resting place, not before, thanks!). This will make some fortunate family a delightful home, with not too much further investment required. The floors do raise the question of dampness in the foundation though, seeing as the flooring is peeling up in most of the rooms.
My vertigo required slowing this to half speed, glad I did, because this house could be a stunner once restored by someone with vision and the means. The noisy location is the only downside here.
This property needs alot of work. It could look good again but you would have to invest alot of money. The entrance to the house with the stone wall is charming. All I can say is this house needs work.
A place meant for a young couple. For a senior like me, the bedroom is much too far away from the bathroom. Also, is burning wood the only method of heating this cottage?
A wonderful opportunity for someone with energy & imagination. The walls are there & the land, and all else is just hard work & oodles of cash ! Could be a lovely place.
I dunno - the concrete shell seems pretty sound, and there is much less apparent water damage than I would expect. The house has many good features, and might be worth fixing up.
Where's the funeral - the music is awful. One of the few Irish home walkthroughs I've with a downstairs bedroom and bath AND a bathroom upstairs as well. Plus the rooms seem very spacious.
I would have jumped at this in my youth - we took on something almost as bad in the late 1960's and it is not hard when you have the energy & enthusiasm of youth ! This could be a beautiful home - clear out, rip off the roof & rebuild that first - then sort out the damp walls - dig all around the property to install a damp proofing system - I think the land this has is a real plus - hope the new owner will have it sorted in no time ! I would love to see it when they have done that ! Thank you for the video ~!
House was obviously lived in within the past 20 years judging by the good radiators. Everything looks damp, but not helped by the weather that day - good old damp & rainy days - good for the complexion but not for empty houses ! The land is amazing tho & apart from needing a decent driveway to the house, it looks like very good for crops & animals. No price given but a great opportunity for a young family to make their own little farm here. I would have jumped at this when we were young & reckless ! Haha ! We did buy something similar when our kids were tiny, but only 1 acre with that & it was in Essex, but that house with no septic system - until we fixed that - was only 2500 pounds - seems unbelievable thinking back now - around 1967 ! (I'm in the US now so no English pound sign on my keyboard ).
Nice but some commentary would be good. ie the view to the north or the west or the field is on a slope or the main road to this property is at the front door. or only five miles or kilometres from somewhere else on a map.
@smittylite02 Yes. But now I live 6 metres away from the local road and 20m from very from busy local . So this house and land would be massive improvement.
How come you don’t list the prices either on the main listing or the link to your info. Also there’s no link to any kind of a webpage where we could find a price. It’s like going to the store and looking in the window. You don’t know how much anything costs,so you don’t know whether to go in further. I’m not going to make a long distance call to Ireland and waste your time and my money if the house is obviously out of my price range!
