That’s more than one word but thanks for the feedback. Please view all the other lion dance videos on my channel to see if there are any videos that you would enjoy. 😉
Lion an, Thanks for the Wonderful performances 🤗didn’t know you have Choy Lee Fut in N.Y. 😳 come from Vernon Rieta Sifu/ Kong Buck Sam Sifu, from the Lee Koon Hung Sifu’s branch of Choy Lee Fut 😬
Beautiful performance! It is so lovely the practice and the actual performance is shared with the general public these days. Thank you for sharing it with us via your terrific recording!
Very well rehearsed Lion dance movements. The weather was spectacular for this event. I have always seen the lettuce head suspended with a piece of string on a pole, never laid on the ground-unique! Thank you for recording it and sharing it with us!
I love seeing the original NYC Chinatown in Manhattan. My ancestors lived on these narrow streets in the 1800s, where there were only 2 streets to the NYC Chinatown. Terrific coverage of the many colorful, exquisite dragons. Thanks for sharing the fun!
These people is a joke to even perform Lion dance without the tail and embarrassment for the chinese culture where the dance have been surviving for more than 5000 years ...sorry to say this if they do not know how to Dance why even perform where country in UK, Canada, Australia, France, Italy they can perform much better ..especially in Italy is the Italian people who can dance better than the ABC who do not even love their own chinese culture resulting what we are seeing in their Lion dance ....
Sorry to say this the worst Lion Dance to be performed in NYC as they is no coordination between the head and the tail as the Tail do not have any reaction to the drums as though the tail is already dead ....They cant perform well on the ground just imagine asking these people to perform on many high poles ....
@@nycchinatownlionman Well I have seen many Nyc Lion dance either in flushing or Chinatown and they cant dance and the only dance was performed by the head not the tail and always seeing these people holding the tail and not dancing if they do not want to take it seriously why even bother to dance ....
@@nycchinatownlionman Well you can look it up on youtube and do you really think the NYC Lion dance can perform better people from UK, Canada, Australia and even in Italy ...
Hello there @gamingwithlilly9174 from Boston Chinese Freemasons. Hope you enjoyed the video. Subscribe to the channel to see more from all the New York Lion dance teams.
@@patrickmcfarland272 No they had enough performers some of the groups parading have friends in other teams so they would walk around and help out the other teams.
Great drumming with strong power !!! Lion Dance was good. Nicely done on the bow, high walk, low walk, and 3 rises. After the Choy Chiang could be a little cleaner. Overall, it was a very good performance. Congrat to the team!!
Sorry to say this the worst Lion Dance to be seen in New York as the Lion do not have tail and that guy have the guts of holding the tail without even dancing ...We can see better Lion dancing from Canada, Uk, Australia, France, Italy where the dance with poles and NYC Lion dance cannot even dance on the floor with the whole Lion body from head to tail unfortunately...
Lion dance with traditional lions long tail is a little different then the modern lions with short tail. Especially there is no contact with the lion head dancer. So it’s all by sight which is not easy. I did and see lion dancing for over 45 years. NYC lion dance is different I’m from Philly. I used to lion dance for Hip Sing Association back in the days. We used to go to NYC on request to help them do lions. I never went bc I was only in my early teens. But back then if you under the tail it wasn’t easy with all the firecrackers that people used to throw. Streets literally would be red. This lion dance group is based off Kung fu FutShan style lion dance not the now popular cat style lion dance. Lion man probably knows what I’m talking about.
@@nycchinatownlionman When you are in a crowd with the Lion the whole body of the Lion need to represent a Lion together with the tail not by holding the tail even though is the beginning and I dont think New York Lion dance can do a better dance than so many countries I have seen and I see they dont even know how to dance...Lion dance they coordinate with the feet and the back and they can use their head to react with charm hearing the beat of the drum ...
The event is called Super Saturday. It is more of a parade style event where the groups walk through Chinatown. When the teams actually perform for a store the tail players would go under the tail.
