I just watched and A Cappella group called A Cub Bella perform part 1 and II of this song. It was really good. GRace is so talented and really this group should be more famous.
+Cauf E. Bean Check out "Negro Spirituals". Sounds very similar to this. I hear ya, man. These are surprisingly difficult genres to navigate. Not sure how you found this, but I found as a haunting bluegrass/gospel mix, by searching "haunting bluegrass". There seems to be a lot here, more than I have ever been able to find. Might try some of the old time Appalachian fiddlers. Kind of a trade-off with bluegrass, though. The darker the melody, more often than not, the more cynical the lyrics get. Not always.
