I'm a Nurse Educator based in Neuro ITU, Oxford. I use simple animations to help break down and simplify some of the healthcare topics learners in my area often struggle with (mostly Neuro and Cardiac). Hope you find the videos helpful!
I'd recommend you research cytotoxic oedema. very basically, the cell can't produce enough ATP through respiration to prevent cellular oedema, a bit complicated to explain here.
At first, it sounds like Ketones are good, then are really bad! But how do Ketones work on the Carnivore diet??? Or even just starving, Aren't they bad being the same thing??
ketones are bad when they build up in the blood to the point where the body can't buffer them (compensate). People in starvation have been known to develop a metabolic acidosis due to ketone build up.

Greetings from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. My name is Martin Matko, i'm 57 years old and was diagnosed with MS in 1992. My concern is, late last year 2009, results from a blood and urine test revealed I had an irregular amount of micro albumin. My general practioner prescribed coversyl, a blood pressure medication, so my kidneys wouldn't be over-taxed apparently. After starting the prescription your office released results about MS being vascular or circulatory related possibly. I halted and varied the dosage of the coversyl until my gp coincided to no longer take it. Now that i haven't been taking the medication for a short while my question is: would or does Liberation treatment affect micro albumin levels. Liberation treatment is not yet a common treatment so my resources to acquire and/or analyze information about liberation treatment is limited as I can only dream its possible benefit. I have type 2 All I saw was that this affects type 1 or a lack of insulin My understanding of type 2 is that insulin is less effective because in type 2 you produce too much? can a person with type 2 get DKA?
In type 2 the body becomes less receptive to the effects of insulin (insulin resistant). It is unusual for a suffer of type 2 to get DKA, but not unheard of.
I'm a qualified doctor from South Africa and this is the first time I understand the DKA physiology without cramming anything Thanks... I'm subscribing for sure
This is an informative yet simple explanation of DKA that makes it easy to understand, good work! I’m T1D and have been in DKA before and I can confirm, it SUCKS. Feels like you’re dying (because in a way you are); I don’t recommend!
@@thehumanbodyoversimplified5381 i really enjoyed that one it was amazing could you please do another tutorials to how you do the other education videos
Suggestions to make things even simpler. Say sugar and fat (not glucose and lipid). Say liver balances blood sugar from getting too high or too low ("control" is not as clear to layman).
I guess potetnaily, not eating breakfast might reduce the amount of glucose in his blood. No sure it would do much to stop the progression of DKA though. Glad you liked the video!
I lost my son 10-17-24 from this as well. Sorry for your loss. I feel your pain. This information should be mandatory for type 1 diabetics and revisited constantly.
My chronic COPD type 2 wife whose "normal" PaCo2 level 40 to 50 mm Hg, when it would reach 100+ it was time for the Bi Pap machine, again! Telling her specialist I cranked up her O2 from 2 LPM 3 to bring up her falling Pao2 level he said that's a good way to induce acidosis induced heart attack! I did a lot of reaserch on the topic, not finding much helpful info in PubMed type places! On reading the UK's British Thoracic Society I found-out a lot! The UK was killing type 2 COPD's by overdosing them on hi doses of O2 trying to get SPo2 levels up to "normal" so they [not the USA] issued card's and 60% masks and advise EMT's [one size fits all] O2 polices! SO when I called LACO EMT's for another exacerbation! Warning them of her Doctors & my POA advice never to go over 2 LPM by cannula, 3 times, He rolled his eyes and said, "WE know what we're doing." After they killed her I got all the documents, EMT jerk put her on 6 LPM by 100% mask! Driving her PaCo2 level to 700 mmHg, her pH 6.6! Pumping more O2 into her for an intubation, she went cardiac arrest, [as predicted and warned] dead for 9 minutes the E.R. quack/ "doctor" injected bi-carb and got her going again, with wiped out kidney and liver functions! She died the next night! Adding to the 2191 other iatrogenic victims that day! (According to Dr. Null's book, Death by Medicine!) Also see the Johns Hopkins Iatrogenic studey, claiming they only kill 682.9 each day! Now WHO "medicine" want's complete power over your once private medical issues! “For the good of the people.” [And big pharma$] I do take comfort knowing she is now with Jesus Christ, who she &and I love very much, [And now COPD free!]
channel name is aptly kept! Worth to be watched by the entire humans! RU-vid should soon bring auto translator options ffor all languages to be used and youtube should recommend your channel to all!
Yes. I know one T2D person who died of it and another who went into a coma. You can become so insulin resistant that it’s like not having insulin at all.
@@thehumanbodyoversimplified5381I would not have left a comment if someone mentioned it before. The comments shifted and I saw someone a year ago mentioning it.
