I worked on this boat while it was being built. I did interior touchup work (mostly on wood finish) I found some of the rooms to have a classic feel, but it was super dark. And other rooms were gaudy IMHO, the zebra & cheetah print was off putting. Working and being on the boat was pretty amazing, but the design was not my favorite. When I commission my 150 million dollar yacht, I'll style it differently 😆
I love this traditional style of interior compared to the new modern styles that are coming out in newer builds. I have seen some newer pics of this yacht, and I believe when it was refitted, it lost this interior to some awful modern look.
This boat is owned by Anne Walton Kroenke a member of the family that owns Walmart. Walmart employees are so poorly paid that they have to use food stamps and Cost Taxpayers $6.2 Billion In Public Assistance. www.forbes.com/sites/clareoconnor/2014/04/15/report-walmart-workers-cost-taxpayers-6-2-billion-in-public-assistance/#459e84a8720b
Exquisite design and execution. One of the nicest I've seen, and this is a hobby of mine, so I have seen many of the great yachts. This is second to none!
Did they make a video to sell this yacht? Or did they Just make a video about themselves? I kept waiting for them to shut up And start showing the interior of the boat they were trying to sell!!!!
Sorry it is boring. There is a lot I love about Cakewalk but the interior is just dull. Nirvana in my opinion has the most exciting interior design in the market right now
You are joking right? The interior of Nirvana is just meh to awful. It's like you are living in a corridor. I certainly wouldn't buy it. But you are right about the interior of Cakewalk, it has way to much dark wood, and the interior is to twee for me. I wouldn't buy Cakewalk either.
***** The amount of money you'd have to spend doing it, you might as well commision your own mega yacht and have the interior that suits your taste. Both yachts I suspect are destined to never be sold, and will be on the charter market till they get scrapped. And now Solandge is for sale, but she is a lot more desirable then Nirvana.
This is but another example why American ingenuity is to be admired and ultimately is sustaining. Any country that so mobilized while under attach as seen in WWII is capable of great things. That is why I say I ADMIRE America rather than I LOVE America. I might say that while watching Mel Gibson's Mad Max series, I concluded that if ever we went off the market economy, barter sustained by this ingenuity wouold see us through. Now back to my ramen noodles!
As Tim said "we put the plans on the table and they scratched their heads and built it" Yes there was a lot of head scratching because the plans were not finished we had to make our own engineering decisions we made so many undocumented changes I feel sorry for anyone that has to fix anything in the future. I wonder if the under spec'ed parts (we used a lot of residential grade parts NOT maritime grade parts) we used have rusted out yet?
I worked building this ship for a year doing the HVAC duct work The job was entirely miss managed we were working with plans that were not even finished. I do not believe that they could possible have the HVAC system working properly.
my dad cooked steaks for the guy who owns this and the owner asked if he could have a hotdog lol my dad works for nascar by the way the owner came by the coorslight vip bus that my dad drives to every race
Very beautiful but for what it cost to buy and to the tank I could live aboard a cruise ship for the rest of my life and still have major money in the bank. To rich for me!
@ranierotazzi Maybe there were other considerations, like weight, or ability to remain tuned while experiencing temperature shifts, humidity shifts, and constantly being moved. Personally I think it would be death to a great piano to put it on a boat, it would turn it into a consumable.
