I never had a chance to see him back in the 80s. I am thankful that I got to see him before he stopped touring. At 70 he still put on a really fun show.
What a fantastic show that was! It looks like maybe you were in the second row also? I was in the second row on the other side, in front of Leach and Holweger. Great video
It was a really great show. Only a couple of songs I didn’t know well. We were on the front row on the far right side… seats 4 and 5. It was my first time seeing him in concert after being a fan since 81 or 82. Hopefully, he will come back before he gets too old to perform.
@dlpppedwards Wow! First time then good thing you got to go to the show! I can't even count how many times I've seen him since the late 70s early 80s. He has always put on a great show. I was in seat B 207. Same here. I definitely hope he's got a few some more shows in him. There were some of his older songs I would have wished heat performed but he did a pretty fair share of songs across this whole career so far. Of course he had to do all the crowd favorites or else there would have been a lot of disappointment and most of the crowd favorites come from what is usually lovingly referred to as his 'dandy Highwayman' which is all well and good but we that have been fans of his forever would have appreciated a little more of the older songs. But it was all of fantastic show overall. English Beat were also fantastic as well. Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Im going in november to see him live 9 times now since 2013, amazing artist i also have a collection 70 items, books, cds, vinyls etc, i love all his songs been a huge fan since 1985.
Sorry been a huge fan since 1981,i bought prince charming then kings 1982, i love vive le rock album simply was an amazing era, sorry got the date wrong, by 1985 i had been a fan since 1981.
The drummer is terrible, his 'interpretation' is completely off. Too laid back, doesn't drive the song with real fervor like it should be driven. (Not to mention the ridiculous antics.)
If you haven’t seen it VH-1 had show called “bands reunited “ the original members were brought together for a one night only show. It’s worth watching if you like FOS.
It's sure is not Mike, Ali, Paul and Frank unfortunately. Obviously, they are older plus Paul is having health issues. It would be great to see the original members. But they had a falling out years ago.
This is like a cover band who just so happened to have the real lead singer come on stage.. How this is still considered A Flock of Seagulls is beyond me.
just watch the original line up sing it from a few years ago with the Prague Philharmonic orchestra, they look older but its 👌,the 8 minute version is great too 👍
It's Mike Score (Synth and Vocals)... and yes, 3 new regular additions to the AFOS lineup, including Gorde Deppe on guitar - of the band The Spoons - having major hits in his own right. Gord is a true 1980's music officionado and talented composer/musician - which is why he was invited to play guitar in lieu of Paul Reynolds. Check out the album "Arias & Symphonies" by the Spoons, you WON'T be disappointed !
Thanks, Lisa. They were my first concert (back in 1982), and now are my most recent. I got to speak with Mike Score after the show. He seems like a really nice guy.
@@dlpppedwards Wow! So neat! I always enjoyed Flock of Seagulls. In 1982, I was 13 years old, and I listened to music all the time. I heard this song playing as I shopped in a grocery store recently, and that is why I went online to hear the song again. I found this video of yours and was so thrilled to see them playing and sounding so great still! What a wonderful memory for you to cherish. Thanks again. Oh yeah, I met Madonna once! Love 80's music.
