I loved my 3.2 Ranger. great off road ,drove well, comfy, pulled with ease. UNTIL.... I had a bump! estimate for repair was £8000. Yes a lot but not enough to be a write off, or so I thought. After 6 weeks my insurers had to write it off. Why? Ford could not supply the parts (They're built in s.africa) for 12 months!!!! I lost hy business. I also had a chance to see the welding on the front chassis/susspension etc. Looked like a 10 yr olds 1st attempt.
Nice video. Reckon the older Raptor is the best looking. However nice to a see a new one out playing too. Question: the U.K. model is a 100hp down on the Oz or USA one. Is this just down to the map or have they made mechanical changes too, such as different turbos etc? 280hp from a twin turbo 3.0 litre is such a low output in this day and age. You’d expect that sort of power level for na, not forced induction.

Some well planned out tracks, we had fun there a couple of weeks back. Im still getting the mud off, even after 4 washes lol. Zones 9 and 10 had them caked in mud.
There is over 5000 miles of public green lanes over the United Kingdom as well as fantastic private hire sites such as the one in this video (Dalton 4x4) which was around 26 acres and took the majority of a day to cover!

I'm curious as to the general types of people an there back grounds that do this I'm assuming construction and agricultural back grounds mostly as white collar can't drive like this lol 😆 hahahaha 😆 😂 😅 seriously though curious in the backgrounds of the most type people that are into this I'm irish and I'm from agri and construction background an most if not all of the peeps into this are same background as me. Is it the same in the UK?

Awesome but I certainly wouldn’t put my Ranger MRST through that. No way! It’s akin to wearing a Black Tuxedo and then mixing cement with a shovel and a Cement Mixer.
When you buy a 4x4 the real joy is in taking it off road.. just choose where your limits of risk lie.. mud is part of it but you don’t have to opt for wallowing in it.. I think without this we are then driving manufacturers to produce crap like the new defenders and the completely pointless modern range rovers of modern times.. they have just become featureless money pits that you dare not stray to far from a dealership with. One does not have to thrash their 4x4s to really enjoy them.. I too would love to know where to take 4x4’s off-road with low risk in damaging panels, and trashing underneath etc. great to teach wives and girlfriends the ways of off roading..
