I love David Pascal’s movement.

One thing I noticed is how David plays with his height. He engages the opponent blade and makes these sliding moves while keeping relatively tall stance and then slowly grounds his body to make the adversary's blade tip look upwards. David uses this technique flaw and lunges forward to land a successful blow.

Hi, Daniel. Good work against Pascal. I'm pleased you stuck to what works for you, marched him down and didn't attempt to mimic any of his showier poses. He's certainly cat-like but it comes off as a tad disrespectful in some of the exchanges. Hopefully it was only in fun and not intended to be rude.

Pascal seems to have the weight often on the front leg (03:46), doesn't that goes against any (historical) fencing treatises which want you to have the weight on the back leg? I admire his style of fencing but i have so many question.

He is fairly mid balanced. He has such a wide stance between the legs, so he can maintain a mid-balance. It's not back balanced, though. Not all sources recommend back balance. Back balance tend to give up quite a bit of mobility. You have the ones that recommend back balance, mid balance and even a few of the Hungarian/Italian ones that recommend a forward balance.

@@danielhambraeus735 Alright, do you know from what treatise/master his stance is from ?

When you say "any", do you mean smallsword specifically or any weapon? Because longsword does have a lot of material with forward leaning stances. Even lunges shift the balance to the front left. Domenico Angelo does have a lot of plates with wide stances, but his balance often depends of the situation, as it should always be so. I don't think stance should be taken so rigidly and literally. It often times depends on the practicioner and their experience with multiple weapon systems.

Cool video! From my limited perspective, it looks like you did better than last time, which is awesome. :-)
