I just read a news article that featured Equity's bleating. I figured I'd look up Equity. It turns out you're nobody. You're nothing. A union for wastrels and parasites grifting from people that actually work for a living, making this union a super-parasite.

Feels weird as an Australian seeing those temperatures considered a heatwave, those temps are still on the lower end of summer days in Australia, 37 - 42 degrees and above is what we consider a heatwave. We don't have a stop work temperature, if we had to stop as low as your proposing here, we would be unable to work most of the summer, you make a point to keep well hydrated, you take breaks but the work goes on, if I were to say its too hot I am not coming in today, I would likely not have a job. Even the government want us to set are air conditioners to 26 degrees in summer in Australia.
Just fyi this is for entertainment workers. You cant exactly take a water break whenever you want during a 3 hour long opera, or a 2 hour long stage play. Iam sure rules for other industries would be different.
@@mineovernutter Fair enough could understand those kind of rules for outside shows, however for indoor venues, that seems more like as issue of installing adequate air conditioning.
@@BNOBLE981 exactly, which is why they are calling for a maximum temperature for work in order to force venues to install the adequate air conditioning to ensure that it isn't too hot
The first time I ever saw this guy was in Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow. He played Ichabod's bible-black tyrannical judge of a father, and damn he had a presence.
This dude doesn't get credit for a number of minor roles he plays in historical documentaries both as an actor and lending his voice on a number of works. What a chad. Examples: he was in the documentary about The Medici: Godfathers of the Renaissance in two roles, his voice is in various documentaries (too many to go thru but you will know his voice), and I could swear he was just some regular footmen in "The King" that released a year ago in King Henry's army at Agincourt. If you blinked you would have missed him, so it gives the strong impression that he is a big history nut and just loves the work so much as to note care for credit.
Thank you General Secretary Paul Fleming, for speaking with clarity for the freelancers. This Conservative Government haven't got a clue!! But they're happy to take the tax earned from the Entertainment Industry, without putting much financial help into it. We bring in £112bn ...but apparently we're not viable. Mr Sunak, where are you going to get that pot of money from now?.... tumble weed... can't hear you...
Just to support the rally and to say: take a look at this link! Equity, as acollaboration between officers and members, has put together a long-term policy dos for the future of Theatre funding, "Performance for all". The South East TUC creative arts committee has a parallel doc. We are looking forward to a future of a widely funded arts structure: provision for audiences and payment for artists.
