LionsWorld is a supporter site and channel for the Lions who play rugby at Ellis Park in Johannesburg, South Africa. We regularly post videos of team announcements and post match conferences.
Let's give praise where praise is due: Willem Alberts, having just turned 40 (that's FORTY!) was simply outstanding! Seriously, he looked more 30 than 40 and absolutely led from the front, collecting many bones in the process! Congrats Willem! And congrats to my entire team for a magnificent performance all-round! Cannot tell you how proud you chaps made not only us, the Lions' ardent fans, but also the rest of South Africa! Next scalp: that of the over-rated Capetonians in two weeks' time! Lekker rus kêrels! Geniet die bier en die braaivleis!
Both are South African traitors! 😂😂😂 Lekker verloor julle verloopte Skotte né? 😂😂😂 GO LIONS!!! 💪💪💪 Just joking chaps! Calm down! 😉 I think Franco's perfectly correct when he says that Glasgow did not do much wrong, they were just outplayed by a better team on the day. The Lions certainly put in a massive shift and were exceptionally fluent in everything they did. I don't think any of their points were not deserved. Bottom line: a fantastic display of rugby by MY 😉 boys! Next scalp: that of the not-so-fluent Capetonians! 😉 GO LIONS!!! 💪
Walter I love your videos and Lions content. Although I'm always up for practicing my afrikaans, please remember to ask questions in english - With great respect and no offense intended we want everyone to support the lions and english is the global language. Hopefully some Europenas will see these videos soon when the lions Rugby Co becomes very strong again
It's actually a clever idea to make traditional jersey but all so a custom style jersey so you have better choices but next month the world cup jersey to be released as well
Loving both designs. The away jersey gives a bit of a 7s feel, but the pattern work works. Very happy with the return of the collar on the home jersey and the small details, e.g. the SA flag inside the collar, and "Stronger Together" written inside the jersey.
Sam very similar to doak / osborne , in that when you're watching them for under 20s you know well they're already at a urc standard for their positions and could slot in
So f%$!ing what? Small country, focused resources. It's no other country's business what way we organise our system. You think England would listen if we complained about the way they do things? Would they F^%k? If they can't manage to keep up.... not our problem.
@@purplecrown505 : Yes that is true but let’s face it, Leinster and their production line system is at a whole other level compared to any other. So while it’s disappointing for him, he shouldn’t be too down hearted…
@@purplecrown505 That’s true but it’s been the case for a lot of the season. Leinster have a lot of quality players that they can put out. Two squads basically and Sam Prendergast even though it was his Leinster debut is clearly going to be a superstar. Some of those other academy players like Chris Cosgrave and Culhane will be top players as well.
It’s not just the players that are developed through the Leinster system that have Leinster at the top table. It’s also down to the quality of the coaches, like our incoming new coach Jacques Nienaber, just as much as the quality of the players as well as the quality of the system. That’s the secret that Leinster have discovered. And of course a successful team brings in the fans. It’s amazing to see crowds of anything between 15,000 to 18,000 turning up for a league game on a freezing cold and wet night in the depths of winter in Dublin! So there’s big amounts of steady money coming in at the gate and of course, where there are big numbers of people, the advertisers will also come in with large finance. That’s why Leinster can maintain such big numbers of very talented young lads in the Academy, who can step up to the senior team at a moments notice.
Man, as a diehard Munster man, the sheer quality the Leinster schools produce is just outrageous; Prendergast is such a stud. That whole U20 side are ridiculous, offloading game like NZ. Leinster and Irish rugby has never been so strong!
Super character shown by the young lads, seem to gel after getting two yellow cards and go up the gears. Sam looking like he is well able to step up to the seniors and man of the match well deserved. Great job Leo as usual
