A former motorcycle policeman here in my home town in Wales has one just like this. I've not ridden the same model but did have a go of a Mike Hailwood Replica in the mid 1980's, which had Denso instruments, rather than Veglia. I actually prefer the looks of this bike, which I believe is a little lighter too.
Sportster based. I had one similar, it wasn't a true XR, just a look alike; '74 Sportster engine, I had the starter hump removed and welded up, Mert Lawill frame, XR hubs, gold anodized rims with stainless spokes, XR tank/seat combo, Marzocchi forks, Red Wig shocks. It looked good but was not much on performance.
Hey mate, all your new recent videos you have listed them "for kids only" that means people cant comment on them, give you feed back and share a thankyou etc. id reccomend you go through and update the video from "just for kids" to for everyone.
Yeah they do, back in 72 I went to buy the AS3, I had the YL1 100cc twin at the time, and wanted a lil more power got to the only local bike shop that Had any, and there I was greeted with an AS3, YCS5-E AND YDS7 The YCS5-E won, fell in love with it at first sight, and still have it....
I bought a new YAS3 in Ireland in 1975 exactly the same as the bike in the video. I even but the same drop handle bars on it. It was one of the best bike I ever owned. After the AS3 I got a RD350, it was some bike for its day and hard to keep the front wheel down. Great Bikes
