Absolutely beautiful and so is your music, Kate! 😊 Really wonderful that you’re playing with your Dad’s old partner. He’d be so pleased. Bless you both.
Reallly fantsstic, Kate, such fine songs on the piano. Until your appearence on the scene, I had only Charlie Kunz as my favorite, but now you join my club.
These old songs are so interesting, seems this one dates from 1913 but was also a hit in 1980 (which I ought to remember but don't) I am sure my grandmother would have been very familiar with it as she played piano and collected a lot of sheet music. Near the end of this at around 1:30 there's a couple of bars that sound like Scott Joplin. Nice
When I was a kid we had some AA Milne stories on 45 rpm records, and some phrases stuck as family catch-phrases. There was, "I think your house has blown down", "What are birthdays? Here today, gone tomorrow". Also, "Is this what Tiggers like best?"
